    Changing careers in your 40’s or 50’s can be very scary, if you buy into societies beliefs! But you don’t have to. You can reinvent yourself at any age- especially in our current climate (2020) of massive “work from home,” and with the increasing power of the internet to connect people across the world. Don’t pay attention to family, friends and naysayers who don’t “get” what your dreams are. They are living in the old paridigm.



















    I reinvented myself after leaving a career in academia, in my 40’s. I had been in for over a decade, as an adjunct professor and then full time tenured faculty. In my case my hand was forced, I was being bullied by 4 older guys in the dept. all entrenched holders of power… I said F#ck that.







    With no support to leave. In fact I waited a year too late- by then the recession had started. And that delay also stole a lot of my energy- staying in a toxic environment every day.







    Leaving a job or starting a business is a huge step. But I believe it is a positive one- or can be. IF YOU FIRST GET YOUR MIND RIGHT!







    First: Realize being 50 or over is not a negative, I explain why.Second: Begin to see all the gifts you bring to the table!Third: Go inside, set aside time, over a few weeks to really look back at your youthful, soul dreams. Are they still nagging at you do you still love that vision? If so now is your time.
