Episode 5: From death to a Doctorate and a Post Traumatic Growth program. How Dr. Joyce Mikal-Flynn uses podcasting to tell the story.

Episode 5: From death to a Doctorate and a Post Traumatic Growth program. How Dr. Joyce Mikal-Flynn uses podcasting to tell the story.

When this program was recorded in February, Coronavirus was just beginning to rear its' ugly head and there was no word of "Shelter-in-Place".  Little did we know the value of Dr. Mikal-Flynn's post-traumatic growth program now that we're releasing this episode six weeks into quarantine. Trauma created by domestic violence, job loss, financial distress, divorce and child abuse has risen during the quarantine and depression as well as fear and uncertainty related to one's health are all playing on the psyche of the American public. If ever there were a need for a program like what you'll hear from Dr. Mikal-Flynn, now is the time.  And as with all my interviews, this one is no different in that it is the podcast series called "Sliver of Hope" that tells the stories in the words of those in the various stages of the post-traumatic growth program, Metahab.  Hear Dr. Mikal-Flynn share not only her own personal story but how the program came to be and how she landed on podcasting as the tool for her to get the message out.  "Sliver of Hope" Stories of Survival and Growth, the podcast series can be found on your favorite podcast app.  For more information on the Metahab program visit www.metahab.com.  If you would like to reach out to Dr. Mikal-Flynn, email her at Drjmf@drjmf.com.

Episode 4: How Matthew Grishman went from financial trainwreck to financial advisor, author and podcaster.

Matthew Grishman of Gebhardt Group, Inc. saw his future in failure if he didn't get control of his finances.  He had spent himself into significant debt and shares his story on what happened, how it happened and the steps he took to remedy the situation.  Not only is his story one of incredible resolve but it took complete trust in those around him to help him get to where he is today.  As a result of his situation, which came very close to what could have been a catastrophic ending,he began a fresh start in a familiar career space, authored a book titled Financial Sobriety (https://www.amazon.com/s?k=financial+sobriety+book&crid=1JL5I17Q3DK65&sprefix=financial+Sobriety%2Caps%2C201&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_2_18), and produced a podcast series of the same name available on all your favorite podcast apps or on line thru the website, Your Financial Sobriety (https://yourfinancialsobriety.com/). Intent on disrupting the traditional model of financial strategies for retirement and wealth accumulation, Matthew and his business partner, Jim Gebhardt have created a program that entails a curriculum detailed in the podcast and that continues to personal meetings, seminars, and public speaking.  If you've ever experienced challenges with your money, the podcast series they've created is what will help you thru those difficulties and prepare you to improve and grow your relationship with money to a healthy and intentional relationship going forward. Listen to Matthew tell his story and both the reason the podcast came into play and some of the elements he was surprised to find out in the process. His is a program created with a great deal of preparation and content and there were still surprises when it came to not only the production but the distribution and marketing of the podcast as well.  You'll get some great insight from an excellent story-teller.

Episode 2: From Managing Millions to Mitigating Mold? Shawn Davis sells to buy and podcasts play a role.

Listen in on the discussion between Jeff Holden, host of "In Your Words" and Shawn Davis, a former Financial Advisor who used podcasts and long form radio shows to build a very successful financial services company he then opted to sell in pursuit of a more independent career re-imagining homes.  In other words, flipping houses...but with a twist. You'll hear Shawn share the process he used to grow the financial services business, some of the challenges he faced and then how he translated that success into his next entrepreneurial venture of buying, upgrading and selling homes.  Podcasting is in his blood and the successes from nearly 10 years of shows on the financial side of things didn't quite translate into immediate success on the homes reimagined side of things.  But, they will.  The difficulties and learning curve have been pretty steep, however, you'll hear that voice of confidence, optimism and passion that come with the territory if you're going to win.  The stories are informative, entertaining, motivating and will help you get a better understanding of the value of a podcast to help grow your business.
