Becoming Better Communicators Together with Shari Foos
I’m so excited to be talking to marriage and family therapist & creator of The Narrative Method, Shari Foos. You’ll hear some refreshing communication tips, from how to be a sincere apologist, to being an open and active listener in this episode. The Narrative Method is an organization that enables humans to form connections based on storytelling. Shari shares some of the core concepts from the program that allow us to become closer to people and be more receptive to different opinions, beliefs, and values. This talk will challenge your way of thinking and hopefully bring you some gratitude on a Monday.

Heat Up Your Sex Life ft. Sex Ed with Steph
Make sure you know where your bluetooth is connected for this one. Steph Rogers joins me to discuss sexual fantasies, kinks, and boundaries. She answers how you can talk to your partner about sex - from what you like and don’t like, trying fantasies and toys in the bedroom (or outside the bedroom, you do you), and what to do if you’re feeling pressured by a partner. And don’t worry, if you’re doing things solo this Valentine’s Day, we got you too. Happy Valentine’s lovers! Tune in and have fun.

It's Not You, It's My Anxiety ft. Brittany Perlin
Grab your mugs, we're spilling the anxie-tea on today's episode. I had the pleasure of speaking with The High Functioning Podcast's very own, Brittany Perlin, for an in-depth discussion on anxiety, seasonal affective disorder, or SAD, and panic disorder. Brittany explains how her diagnoses have contributed to her life in both negative and positive ways, and some of the main ways she tries to support herself when she feels the anxiety mosquito biting (this is a Big Mouth reference, which I wrongly call the anxiety monster on the episode). This leads us into a discussion on codependency. I share about a temporary, but tougher time in undergrad when I was diagnosed with panic disorder. We end the episode discussing dating a person with anxiety and the importance of knowing what you need when you could benefit from emotional support, and asking your partner how you can show up for them.

Better in 2022
Happy New Year!!! The first episode of the year features some reflections from 2021, followed by some intentions, goals, and manifestations going into the new year. My guest, Jamie Wolfish, tells us about her accomplishments in 2021, from getting her own place, to making travelling a fun priority. We talk about life in a sorority, women supporting women, leaving a job you love, age differences in relationships, and what we're looking forward to, working towards, and working on in the upcoming year.

Hacking Happiness
On today's episode is the lovely Olivia Jones, or Liv. Liv has set out to be present and feel happy in every part of her life. We discuss the feeling, "happiness", and how you can boost your mood with external factors, as well as internal factors, in order to change your outlook. We also describe and give examples of the very pervasive terms: "toxic environment" and "toxic positivity". We hate on "good vibes only" and emphasize the importance of sometimes having to stare out the window when it's raining outside to bask in difficult moments. Liv gives great advice for incorporating joy into your every day life, especially when things don't go as planned or you feel like you're settling. The concept of settling (whether at a job, in a relationship, or lifestyle) is a hot one on this episode! Listen in for a better day in just 58 minutes :)
