Shilpi and Mike met through Venture for America, a fellowship program that connects recent grads with startups and growth companies in low-cost cities. As fellows, they are attempting to learn the skills and tactics necessary to be successful entrepreneurs. After trading some insights during a 5 week training camp, they moved to their respective cities in the fall of 2013. Shilpi moved to Las Vegas to work for the Downtown Project, and Mike moved to Detroit to work for an internet company, BoostUp.

While their situations were completely different, they both were a little in over their heads. They began chatting regularly about startups, technology, big problems, small problems, and what they were learning on the ground. These conversations allowed them to swap stories and experiences, but also led them to some new ideas -- including the idea to start recording their conversations. While they often know little about the topics they’re discussing, it ends up being a lot fun and always spurs more learning.

Join Shilpi & Mike for "In Over Their Heads", a weekly talk show where Shilpi, Mike, and their guests discuss some things worth talking about. If you’re looking to listen to thoughts on technology, startups, or just two nerds and a cool guest discussing interesting topics, you should tune in.
