Melissa Nicholson’s badly beaten body is found on the side of the road. Newspapers at the time describe her as "teen hooker #3", but her family only remembers her big smile, sparkly personality, and honey-coloured hair. The 17-year-old is last seen on the Victoria stroll.

Cheri, Kimberly and Melissa were all last seen on the stroll in downtown Victoria. The activities of the area starkly contrast the elegant image Victoria is trying to sell tourists. It becomes a fertile hunting ground for predators.

Before they were found dead, all three girls were lured into sex trafficking with promises of love and money. Today, it's been more than thirty years since they were killed, and their killer, or killers, have never been found.

Addictive, enthralling, startling and profoundly sad
This is a well produced, captivating and empathetically thought out series of podcasts about unsolved cases of missing people on Vancouver Island. If you are interested in justice, you’ll be disappointed, as these cases are still open. However these stories need to be told, and the missing themselves deserve a better natural end, as do their families.
What this podcast does though, shocks me about what I now see as a small insidious underbelly of reckless human behaviour in a small area, which has allowed injustices. This has happened despite the vast majority of kind, compassionate neighbours, friends and families and good people on the island. How can the minority negative have such a hold over the majority of positives in such a beautiful place?
It’s all very thought provoking, and soul destroying when you take on the emotional impact of the huge life sentences handed out to the families of the missing. It’s time that those with information about the missing spoke up and did the right thing. How would you feel if this happened one of your family members and you got no justice?
