Violet Rowland
Hello! My name is Violet Rowland, I am a graduating Senior majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology and minoring in Biochemistry. In my lab, we study a process called segmentation. Community Capacity Building with David Contreras
A few weeks ago I chatted with David Contreras who is a Fugista and a bike club leader. He’s been very…

Sophia Marcinowski
Hi, my name is Sophia Marcinowski! I’m currently a senior majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology, and I’m in my first year of the Accelerated Master’s Program (AMP) at the University of Arizona. We’re interested in learning more about this process because this could lead to finding therapeutic targets to treat ALS, of which there are currently none. In my free time, I love to draw and…

I come from the Navajo Nation where I am devoted to receive my education to improve the lack of resources on the reservation for future generations to come. This past summer I was able to participate in the UBRP summer program under EHS-RISE to get started with my research experience, and now it has almost been a year since I’ve been in Dr. Hoover’s Lab where I used my aspects…
