Cooper is the former head of Human Capital Management at Goldman Sachs, and in partnership with her former colleagues, was responsible for the recruitment, development, promotion, and well-being of the firm's 35,000 people around the world. At Goldman Sachs she worked hard to sustain a culture and create an experience in which each individual's full talents, unique backgrounds, and distinctive perspectives can contribute to the personal and professional growth and to the continued progress of the bank's clients, shareholders and communities. 

Prior to that role, Cooper worked in Sales Management and led several businesses within the Securities Division. After a combined 10 years at Morgan Stanley and Bankers Trust, she joined Goldman Sachs in 1996 to build and lead the firm’s Energy Sales Group. In 2002, she was responsible for the firm’s Futures business and prior to that, she was co-head of the commodities business in Europe and Asia, based out of London. 

Cooper earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges.

Cooper also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Museum of Modern Art as well as the Northwestern University Board of Trustees. She is also a member of the Boards of Directors of Horizons at Brunswick School and ExpandED Schools.
