Live From The Backroom Episode 6 with Carrie Anne Kelly

Live From The Backroom Episode 6 with Carrie Anne Kelly

It is good to be back! I am so excited to kick off 2022 with a new episode with one of my favorite people. Today I sit down with the amazing Carrie Anne Kelly. A photographer, and fellow music fanatic. We covered everything from moving across the country, too being in the trenches of the photo world and our favorite rock clubs, but of course as we always do, we bring it back to the music. For the first of many episodes this year we are officially live from the backroom.

    Episode 5 With Colin Tappe

    Episode 5 With Colin Tappe

First episode of the summer and it's a scorcher! With me on this episode is Colin Tappe. Colin is the owner and operator of the small but mighty record store Standards Records in the heart of Vista. When he isn't at the shop you can probably find him fronting one of the two bands he is apart of: Crime Desire, and ROC (Rod of Correction). This episode was a first for me for a few reasons, the first one being it was recorded on location at Standards, and recorded completely mobile! Which is why our conversation has an abrupt but humorous ending. I am so grateful for the opportunity to talk with Colin and I look forward to talking to him again soon. Likewise I look forward to any feedback and suggestions for guests as the show progresses. Thank you all for your patience with the sporadic upload, and I hope to be recording more soon!

    Episode 4 With Mason Munari

    Episode 4 With Mason Munari

Surprise! We are back! Thanks to all of you for being patient as I know the sporadic upload is kind of annoying, but I have some fun plans for the future and will share them in due time. With me on the show today is my friend, guitarist, Mason Munari. Mason and I met by chance in college, and I immediately gravitated toward him, he’s the kind of guy I looked up to like an older brother. It probably helped that we were both fans of music, and both chatterboxes. Mason is the lead guitarist for RORRE a local band here in San Diego. RORRE has prepared a new collection of songs for their upcoming second E.P. Its release is currently on a need to know basis but I can at least tell you the name: Beautiful Streams, with the first single “Slipping” out now on all streaming platforms. And just released last week, the title track: “Beautiful Streams”. Both songs have been on repeat on my Spotify playlists and they should be on your too! Mason and I talked about everything, from first concerts to first tours, first instruments to first lyrics. I had such a great time catching up with Mason and getting to hear about the bands plans post pandemic. I hope you all enjoy this episode, of Live From The Backroom.

    Episode 3 With Dylan Soto

    Episode 3 With Dylan Soto

Hey, look a new episode! Today’s episode is special for a few reasons, the first being it's thee first episode of the new year! and a second (and more importantly), it’s the first episode with a guest! My guest for this episode is my friend Dylan Soto. Dylan is a San Diego based Jazz saxophonist and Musician who founded his group The Soto Six jazz sextet in 2017. With the Soto Six, the band has hosted one of San Diego county’s only live jazz series at the Brown Cup Café in Oceanside since 2019 as well as North San Diego County’s Premier Jazz Jam at The Aztec Brewing Co. More recently, he adds another name to his grown list of collaborations this one with renowned pianist and composer Bob Weller. This connection resulted in the establishment of his newest band the Weller/Soto Quartet. We talk about a lot of things on this episode, so I hope you enjoy, I also hope to have more episodes out soon, until next time.
