Clear is Kind: Learning the Difference Between Kind and Nice.

Clear is Kind: Learning the Difference Between Kind and Nice.

One of my favorite ‘aha’ quotes from Brene’s book is, ‘Clear is Kind.’

    Three small words.
Three powerful words when used together.
These words changed how I set my boundaries, as well as gave me permission to start using my authentic voice.

‘Clear is kind,’ allowed me to shift my perspective and understand that by not speaking my truth I was not only being dishonest to myself, but to others.

Recently I have been training with facilitators from Brene Brown's team to get certified through the Dare to Lead Program. Yesterday I was blown away with a take-away that I just knew I had to share with you. I never thought anything could trump, "Clear is Kind," but it happened.

I always thought the words ‘kind’ and ‘nice’ meant the same thing, but yesterday I was given a seed that will grow many new thoughts and uproot old beliefs. A seed I'm planting in you.

Kindness: Choosing to speak difficult words with grace and honor. Leaning in and choosing love.

Niceness: Choosing to protect myself by hiding words for fear of hurting myself or others.

Come spend the next 30 minutes and learn more about Clear is Kind and the difference between kind and nice.

    Speak with Spirit

Speaking our thoughts and opinions can be scary for many of us. It was scary for me. For most of my life I spoke only what I thought others wanted to hear.

Like you are just a little different than everyone else?

The good news is you are not alone AND that means you have just found your pocket of belonging in this episode.

    In this episode you will:
*Discover the difference between fitting in and belonging.
*Learn how to create pockets of belonging today.
*Learn how fitting in can teach us discernment of trust.
*Celebrate the power you have to create a place where others can find you and how to stop waiting to be invited to sit at someone's table.

    Own Your Story: Dare greatly

    Own Your Story: Dare greatly

Stepping in our authentic splendor story will have some people stepping forward to meet us and others stepping away.

It can be scary when we try to control and manage other people's stories.

    That is not our purpose.

Our purpose is to dare greatly, to connect with people we want to share the arena with and shine brightly as the permission slip for others to do the same.

What you can expect in this episode:
    *Authenticity
    *Vulnerability
*Reference to Brene Brown: Daring Greatly
*Quote: "The Man in the Arena" by Theodore Roosevelt
*Not owning other people's interpretation of our story
