Episode 7 - Sean Alec Chidester, or "The Rectal Shelf"

Episode 7 - Sean Alec Chidester, or "The Rectal Shelf"

It's the Friday after Halloween, which means we're all suffering from Type-2 diabetes and we recorded a new episode of Set to Jet! Your illustrious hosts Sean Riccio (KnoxComedy, Sword of the Stars II) and Jason Zapata (TVTropes.org) sit in with comedian Sean Alec Chidester to discuss technology, awesome bands, having the same name (sorry Jason) and how to kill somebody with a pineapple.

    Errata:
    * Bands mentioned today - MC Frontalot, The Protomen and one of my new favorites Peelander-Z. Check out this music video! You can also see the record of the livestream of MC Frontalot and the Protomen here.
    * The movie I was reaching for was Next, based of the Philip K. Dick story "The Golden Man". The less said about it, the better.
    * The Wicker Man, comedy of the year.
    * There's a show called Misfits. You should watch it. It's like Heroes if that show had British delinquints and didn't suck.
    * Here's that poster of Big Trouble in Little China from the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.
    * Food, Inc.
    * "Dobby? Dobby's a fucking fruit!"
    * Sword of the Stars II: Lords of Winter is finally out! You can get it through Steam, Impulse and GamersGate. Buy it and hear me do weird bug voices!
    * Related note, friend of the show Arinn Dembo's firsts SotS novel The Deacon's Tale is out from Kthonia Press. Buy it here!
    * And of course on November 16th (not the the 13th! Sorry if I told you that!) I'll be at the Preservation Pub opening for Rory Scovel's Dilated Imagination tour. Get your tickets now!

Sorry it's late folks! But it's got supercat Matt Ward, so you know it's going to be worth the wait. Buy his new CD "Glamorous" on iTunes and CDBaby.com October 31st. The perfect Halloween gift!
    Errata coming soon.

Episode 5 - Collin Gerberding, or "First to the Merkin"

Episode 5 - Collin Gerberding, or "First to the Merkin"

Sorry this is going up so late folks, but neither hail nor sleet nor weird work schedules shall keep us from our appointed rounds. Yes, Set to Jet returns with special guest Collin Gerberding, the last person to ever set before the UT library's sole USB microphone. Before we retire the old set-up Colin talks to Sean and Jason (sorry, James was busy keeping his car from being sacked by hobos) about video games, candy contents, merkins and military conduct. It's all right here on Set to Jet!

Episode 4 - Jeff Blank, or "Welcome to Ginger Hell"

Episode 4 - Jeff Blank, or "Welcome to Ginger Hell"

Welcome and salutations to Set to Jet's fourth episode! This week's show features good friend of the 'cast Jeff Blank, long-time Knoxville comic and finalist in tonight's Rocky Top Comedy Contest at the Square Room. The boys spend an hour-plus with Jeff talking about superheroes (both real-life and filmic), the ongoing Occupy Wall Street demonstrations, the state of ginger souls, gay pickup lines and delve excitedly into the Deck of Many Things! This week's episode promises to be an exciting time for all.
Note: There is a little bit cut out at the end, we don't reference it much afterwards, but it will be included in a future episode where Jeff and Sean geek out about the comedy industry and artform. So look for that!
    Errata (Sorry it's late!)
    * The Occupy Together movement keeps going strong! Find your local protest and do what you can. For Knoxville, you can find more information here and here.
    * "Jamie Farr is the Green Lantern!"
    * If you listen to this podcast you probably already saw this, but here it is again: The Avengers trailer.
    * Fuckin' Scarecrow with a gun!
    * If you don't know who Phoenix Jones is, well, now you do after that link. Here's the video of the incident that lead to his arrest.
    * Also Thanatos, hero of Vancouver
    * Batman. Chocolate. This one's for you, James.
    * The Watchmen, in: "Presidential Trouble!" (NSFW)

Episode 3 - Riley Fox, or "Super American Jesus Eagle Power-Hour"

Episode 3 - Riley Fox, or "Super American Jesus Eagle Power-Hour"

Friday is here again, and with it a new episode of Set to Jet. This week brings a bunch of new features, including our very first guest, Tennessee-based comedian Riley Fox. He's in studio (that is to say the un-soundproofed room in the library we record in) the whole episode, dispensing his wisdom on Apple products, friendly seiral killers and regicide.
We also introduce Jason Zapata's brain-child, The Deck of Many Things! Wherever a spot of dead air lurks, wherever conversation runs dry like a Nevada suburb sprinkler, the Deck of Many Things will be there to save us from the boredom of grasping straws!
Also in this episode: Interior Semiotics, Occupy Wall Street continued, not-so-disfunctional families and James Sutton's first plug. Exciting times!
    Errata:
Riley Fox is going to be perforiming on the 2nd Annual Rocky Top Comedy Contest show at the Square Room in Knoxville, TN on October 14th. Come out and give him your votes!
Help make James' dog famous and Like the new Dorito Fan Page on Facebook.
I will be on the Knox Comedy Booze Cruise on Oct. 21st. Plenty of tickets still available, contact me for more info.
Jason Zapata has a Twitter account! Follow him.
There will be an Occupy Wall Street solidarity demonstration in Market Square today at 6 PM. I'l be there. You should be too.
Here's the Daily Beacon article about the new McDonald's. No mention of art student's throwing up. Jason, I am disappoint.
