Sophie Kietzmann: Breaking Barriers in Fashion and Beauty View Finders Photography Podcast

    • Visual Arts

Sophie Kietzmann is a Fashion and Beauty Photographer based in Brooklyn, New York. Through her work, Sophie fills the gaps of visual representation of the diversity within our society, giving individuals and marginalized social groups non-tokenistic and ethical material for self-recognition and true equality. Sophie is truly a barrier-breaking photographer who is doing important and visually striking work.
Our conversation touches on Sophie's photographic origins, her journey working as an assistant in New York City, how she broke out on her own and what it's like to work on a big, New York fashion campaign from pitch to shoot.
We also talk about Sophie's work as a coach to the phtogoraphers as well as discussing the importance of visual representation for marginalised groups. It's fascinating conversation with a fantastic, knowledgable photographer who is pushing boundaries within the global fashion industry.
