    Our Most Controversial Episode

    Our Most Controversial Episode

This week, we thought we’d shake things up.
It’s been a slow news week so we’ve decided to stir up a bit of controversy. In the era of Prince Harry’s book Spare, apparently the only way to get a bit of attention is to lay it all out, the good, the bad, and the debatable.
Anne Marie and Emmet examine their own investment boundaries and the ethical debates that happen behind the scenes of controversial stock picks.
The crew also answer the questions: What company are you impressed by and wouldn’t invest in for ethical reasons?
    We hope you enjoy!

Stock Club's Big Fat Wrap Up of 2022

Welcome to our wrap-up of the year (maybe post-mortem is a better phrase to use).
2022 has seen the S&P 500 fall drastically, record-breaking inflation, the collapse of crypto, a war breakout, a rapid turnaround in economic policy from every Central Bank, a stock market crash, gold falling — have we missed anything?
We ask Emmet, who has been fully invested through the Dot.com crash, and multiple other previous financial disasters, how has 2022 compared?
    In this episode:

We go through some Stock Club stats - how have we done this year?Anne Marie discusses social media as a whole and breaks down what has gone wrong at Meta,Rory takes a look at the man who hasn’t been out of the headlines this year for more than 5 minutes, Elon Musk.

Excellent Podcast, the make investing fun!

I started listening to Stock Club in in 2021 and hand in heart can say I have hardly missed an episode since. The focus is mainly on fast growth stocks, mainly technology stocks and it involves a few experienced investor analysts who discuss individual companies worth watching. The manage to get access to global experts, and somehow keep the discussions upbeat and fun, even in a horribly bearish market like 2022. Top marks to Emmet Savage and his team for producing such a professional and easy listening programme each week. The format is strong and moves at pace. I highly recommend this podcast.

Great Podcast

Been listening to this podcast for almost 2 years now and it’s given me a huge interest in stocks and makes long term investing exciting! Love the combination of quantitative data and qualitative informal discussions supporting individual views each week compared to some of the other investing pods which can be a bit data heavy and boring - that new guy Mike is a great host!
