Today, Martin and Jade combine two of their favourite things for their ultimate podcast topic: teaching and Harry Potter. Poor behaviour management, lack of enrichment opportunities, inconsistent teaching methods, lack of challenge.. just a few things that unfortunately, Hogwarts got wrong. It'a good to critique the things you love and today, the hosts of TeachAir suggest that Hogwarts is a special measures school and would not survive an Ofsted inspection.

Dan Hockley joins the TeachAir team to explain how he has established a work/life balance as an educator. From creating lists and making plans to utilising models of whole class feedback, Dan, Jade and Martin dissect the key ingredients for creating efficiency in the classroom to allow all teachers to lead a fulfulling personal life away from school.

On episode three of the TeachAir Podcast, we bring Josh Quinn to you to talk about sharing your personal life in the classroom. Josh is a high school English teacher in Blackpool and is openly gay in the classroom. Today's episode connects TeachAir, Josiah Kendrew, a primary teacher currently educating his class remotely and Leanne Lucas, a teacher in Shanghai who has recently returned to the classroom. They will be discussing how they are managing this transition period, what they have learnt about themselves and their children along the way and what they'd like to take back into the classroom, or perhaps leave behind, as they consider the future of teaching within the aftermath of Covid-19. Welcome to the first ever episode of TeachAir Podcast, a podcast connecting teachers across the globe. We are Jade and Martin, two primary school teachers who met when teaching in the same school in Liverpool. We've since left the glorious days of working in Year 6 together behind and are now separated by continents and time zones. Martin is in Qatar, whilst Jade has just returned to Liverpool having taught in Australia. Together they want to talk teachers, teaching.. and the current issues, news, misconceptions and ideas surrounding the profession. With the help of other teachers and education professionals along the way, they aspire to open up conversation about the best job in the world. Because they teachers love talking about teaching, especially with each other.
