The Visioning
Do you know what business you are really in? Do you know what you want? Do you know who and what you are? Do you know why you are doing this?
Free enterprise capitalism is the most powerful system for social cooperation and human progress ever conceived. It is one of the most compelling ideas we humans have ever had. But we can aspire to even more.
To summarize the key steps I discuss in this episode:
Start with the /your Why: Determine the reason for undertaking a particular endeavor: New Business, Product Line, Product, Service, or Project.
Challenge the team to reframe the paradigm and understand what opportunities this opens up for the business.
Use these Tools: Value Statement, Mission Statement, Vision Statement
Identify/Determine your Goals: At this stage, these goals could be quantifiable or they may be more conceptual.

If you are like most people, you likely come up with dozens of ideas every day.
How many do you have? Do you even know? What' s your process for capturing ideas?
A dangerous pitfall is that we limit our belief in our ideas and we tell ourselves that an idea has to a result in a big breakthrough worth a billion dollars or no one will take it seriously, when in reality, a small idea can grow into something big. Don’t ever dismiss, pre-qualify or judge an idea until you have fully explored it, unpacked it, and considered it. Limiting beliefs will do just what they say they will do…limit you!
You have to be comfortable with the notion that you need to Get uncomfortable. The only way we grow is to push ourselves to do that which challenges us and that likely means being uncomfortable.
How you live your life today, what you focus on, where you spend your time will determine what your life looks like tomorrow, next year and well into the future.
Go forth and make your freaking great idea a reality!
