#19 - By Any Means Necessary (ft. Dano Norceide)

In this episode, I'm joined by Dano Norceide, Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer for the Arizona Cardinals. Dano's story is one that demonstrates the importance of resilience, determination, and drive. What I enjoyed most about speaking with Dano was the inspiration he effortlessly provides as he highlights the struggles of his journey and how it landed him his dream job in the NFL. His story on how he's worked his way up to becoming a dual credentialed clinician for the NFL is incredibly inspiring and he shares a ton of wisdom for those who share the same aspirations. I can't wait for you guys to hear this episode.

#17 - Mental Health & Communication in Sports Rehab (ft. David Meyer)

#17 - Mental Health & Communication in Sports Rehab (ft. David Meyer)

In this episode, I speak with Dr. David Meyer PT, DPT. Author of “Injured to Elite: A Guide to Empowering Yourself to Transform Your Life After Injury”, which he wrote to empower the world with a newfound mental approach to physical rehab. As a Sports Performance Physical Therapist, he graduated with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from NYU and completed an advanced sports residency training program. David served as the Medical and Rehabilitation Coordinator for the St. Louis Cardinals for three years from 2015 through the 2017 season. This was a dream of his that came to fruition after playing baseball throughout his entire life into the collegiate level. During his time working for the Cardinals, he discovered a new appreciation for the psychological implications of sports rehabilitation after seeing the profound impact it had on players and began developing a comprehensive approach to integrating mental skills and strategies into the physical rehabilitation process. I have to say, of all of my talks thus far with this podcast, this might have been one of the most natural discussions I've had. Those who have followed me for some time now know how fascinated I am with mental component to rehabilitative care, so natural David was the perfect guest. David and I seamlessly discuss topics such as:

4 Major mental states (Identity Crisis) that occur after injuries in patients.
Practical advice to use with your patients to improve compliance, and communication.
Direction of Physical Therapy; where we're headed in the coming years.
Pros & Cons to the Clinic/Telehealth models: how do these apply to sports rehab?
3 Mental Exercises that you can begin using TODAY as a clinician to reduce fear, and anxiety in not only your patients, but yourself.
    and much more.

#16 - "Earn It." (ft. Dr. Amy Atmore)

#16 - "Earn It." (ft. Dr. Amy Atmore)

In this episode, I’m joined by Dr. Amy Atmore, PT, DPT, CSCS. Dr. Atmore is an LA-Based PT who has been leaving her mark on the sports medicine field for the last 10 years. Her experience in professional sports ranging from the NBA’s Phoenix Suns to NFL’s Seattle Seahawks has been quite the journey as she now ventures into a specific sector of the NFL treating athletes privately. Her experience as a physical therapist has not always been Sports and she prides herself in being able to pull from other PT specialties to facilitate her growth in the sports field. It was an absolute pleasure having this incredible mind on the show to discuss various topics such as how to engage with your athletes to promote compliance, what to look for when clearing an athlete for play, how to handle treating athletes that may be seeing another PT, AT, or CSCS outside of your care, are there residency and certification requirements to treat at a professional level, and tips for new grads that aspire to become a sports med PT.

As always, be sure to give the podcast page a follow on IG @haloeffectpodcast

& show some serious love to Dr. Atmore on her IG page @Amypedia for taking time out of her day to give back and offer her advice to you aspiring sports PTs out there.
