The Latin Prayer Podcast

Dylan Drego

We are living in difficult times, both in the Church and in the world. Now more than ever, ordinary Catholics must fight for the salvation of souls and personal sanctity. Latin is the universal language of the Church, made holy when it was nailed to the Cross with Christ (John 19:19–20). It connects us to the worship of Heaven and strengthens our prayers. In 2017, I wanted to pray the Rosary in Latin but couldn’t find a podcast to follow. So I made one. It has since grown into a full library of Rosaries, Litanies, Chaplets, and other traditional prayers. I’ve also created Latin learning guides and printable resources, available through Patreon, to help you pray with clarity and confidence, whether on your own or with your family. This is about restoring Catholic prayer, reclaiming sacred tradition, and forming a movement of families praying daily in Latin for the salvation of souls and the renewal of Holy Mother Church.

7 Prayers of St. Gregory the Great | Maremagnum (Audio Only)

In this episode of The Latin Prayer Podcast, we explore the Maremagnum devotion, often confused with the unauthenticated “9 Prayers.” Instead, we focus on the authentic 7 Prayers of St. Gregory, a powerful set of meditations on the Passion of Jesus Christ. These prayers, preserved in medieval manuscripts and long recommended for Catholic devotion, each reflect on a mystery of Christ’s suffering, death, resurrection, and glory. Join us in praying this traditional Catholic devotion in English, with structure and context explained. Each prayer is followed by an Our Father and a Hail Mary, guiding the faithful in deeper reflection and love for our Lord’s Passion. Perfect for Holy Week, First Fridays, or any time you wish to unite with the suffering Christ through Catholic meditations, Latin prayer traditions, and Eucharistic spirituality.   To follow me on other platforms Click on my LinkTree below. linktr.ee/dylandrego Submit Prayer Requests or comments / suggestions: thelatinprayerpodcast@gmail.com To Support FishEaters.com Click Here (  / fisheaters  ) Join me and others in praying the Holy Rosary every day; here are the Spotify quick links to the Rosary: Joyful Mysteries https://open.spotify.com/episode/1yhn... How Does God Want Us to Worship? Sacrifice or Sermon? | YT Catechesis (Audio Only)

How does God actually define worship in Scripture and the early Church? Modern Christianity often equates worship with sermons or emotionally moving music, but is this what Scripture and tradition teach? This catechesis digs deep into the biblical and historical roots of Christian worship. Drawing on the Old Testament sacrificial system, the words of Christ at the Last Supper, and the testimony of the early Church Fathers, we explore the true nature of worship as understood by the apostles and saints. You’ll learn how worship in the Bible is always sacrificial, culminating in the Eucharist, not preaching. Discover why the Mass is not a Catholic invention but the divinely instituted fulfillment of ancient worship. This episode provides a rich theological and historical case for why true worship must be centered on the Eucharistic sacrifice, Christ’s body and blood, made present at every Mass.   Get access to Patreon Only Deep Dive, Digital Downloads, Latin Learning Guides and More - Click Here (https://www.patreon.com/thelatinprayerpodcast).   A huge thank you to my patrons! Is Mary Really "Full of Grace" (Luke 1:28 Explained) | YT Catechesis (Audio Only)

This YouTube Catechesis (YTC) tackles a foundational question in Marian theology: If all have sinned, how can Mary be sinless? Beginning with Romans 3:23 and Luke 1:28, we dive into the original Greek of kecharitōmenē, a unique and singular title that reveals her identity as one who has been fully and permanently graced. We walk through scriptural passages often misunderstood, including Gabriel's greeting, Elizabeth’s Spirit-filled proclamation, and Christ’s own words in Luke 11:27. We explore Old Testament typology (Mary as the New Ark of the Covenant) and the imagery of Revelation 12 to affirm Mary’s singular vocation in salvation history. This episode also addresses objections, clarifies common misreadings, and concludes with the patristic witness to Mary as the New Eve, emphasizing that to lose sight of her is to miss the radical truth of the Incarnation itself. Learn the Apostles Creed | FREE Latin Learning Guide (Audio Only)

In this Latin Learning episode, we explore The Apostles' Creed line-by-line, decoding each Latin phrase with its theological depth and historical context. Known as the Old Roman Symbol, the Creed emerged amidst early Church heresies and solidified by the 4th century. Though not penned directly by the apostles, it embodies their proclamation, serving as a baptismal confession across centuries. From “Credo in Deum” to “Vitam Aeternam,” we examine each phrase’s etymology and show how it was designed to protect orthodoxy and instruct converts. This guide helps listeners, families, and catechists grasp not only vocabulary but why every word was deliberately chosen to affirm truth and refute error. Baptism Now Saves You: The Biblical Truth | YT Catechesis (Audio Only)

In this episode of YouTube Catechesis, we take on a common but dangerous assumption: that baptism is merely symbolic. But where does the Bible actually say that? We explore 1 Peter 3:21 alongside Acts, Romans, and the Gospels, showing that baptism is not an optional outward gesture, it is the God-ordained sacrament that truly saves. Drawing from Scripture, apostolic tradition, and the consistent witness of the early Church, we uncover why Christians for 1,500 years never debated baptism’s saving power. We examine how Protestant interpretations began shifting only in the 16th century, why the symbolic-only view is inconsistent even within Protestantism, and how the Catholic understanding is shared by other historic Christian traditions. We also address common objections and reveal why exceptions don’t overturn God’s ordinary means of grace. This episode will equip you with biblical clarity, historical evidence, and practical reasoning for defending the truth of baptismal regeneration.
