Grey Stag: Matt (Bass/Vocals), Steve (Riffs) & Daragh (Drums) do a track by track preview of their incredible debut album 'Call of the Mountain'

It was a pleasure to welcome sludge merchants, Steve (Riffs), Matt (Bass/Vocals) & Daragh (Drums) of Grey Stag to the podcast, their debut album 'Call of the Mountain' drops on St.Patricks Day.
'Grey Stags raw and stony dark riffs and crushing percussions seem to interweave and rumble through each and every knot that Colin Bolger of Dabulga Design carves into paper, becoming an aural tapestry of groove and folklore, all underpinned by thickened sludge and relentless energy. Grey Stag unearths the imagination and power of our deep rooted celtic heritage and battle hardy bloodline, raising the bar for Irish metal here at home, and ultimately, further afield.'
Pat O' of The Smashing Skull Sessions.
Myself and Danielle get an exclusive track by track preview of the album and of course there's plenty of other insights with the lads to keep you interested and amused. This is going to be one of the best Irish Metal releases in 2023 so check out Grey Stags link that I've posted below to make the essential purchase. Hope you enjoyed the show and all I ask is for you to 'SUBSCRIBE' to The Metal Cell YouTube channel to avail of more content like this. Thanks Richie.

It was a pleasure to welcome Dave Slattery of instrumental Tech Metal band Ropemaker to the show. Dave, a multi-instrumentalist enrolled the talents of former Ilenkus drummer Rory Guyett for an instrumental album that's laden with huge slabs of riffs and unpredictable arrangements. 'Interwoven' is Ropemakers debut LP and certainly caused a stir in the Irish Metal Scene, myself and Danielle have a brilliant chat with Dave & Rory about song composition, life as a solo artist and an in depth look at how Ropemaker came into fruition. Dave is yet another great addition to the incredible solo artists out there in our Irish Metal Scene. Check out his Bandcamp page in the link below and support it if you like what you heard on the show. Once again please 'SUBSCRIBE' to The Metal Cell Podcast if you want to hear more interviews like this. Thanks Richie.

The Forums: Join myself, Evan & Joe as we talk about topics related to our favorite music...METAL!

After some great interviews over the last few weeks and some chart success as well it was nice to kick back and relax with Evan and Joe on The Forums. Unfortunately Danielle had to drop out, due to work commitments but as they say the show must go on! We reviewed four new tracks from Collapser, Ropemaker, Terror Syndrome and Nebularis. The topic of the night was a really interesting chat about the options out there for music education, roles in bands and band management. So hopefully you'll enjoy this topic and if you want us to look at other topics comment below. As always thanks for your support and do hit that 'SUBSCRIBE' button if you haven't already on The Metal Cell YouTube Channel. Thanks Richie.

The Metal Cell Podcast and The Smashing Skull Sessions have come together once again to showcase yet another one of Ireland's metal powerhouses. Raum Kingdom are one of the finest sludge/post-metal bands on the scene today, and have been causing rumblings within music circles right here at home and further afield as well.
Since the release of Everything And Nothing back in 2019, a lot has happened within the Raum Kingdom family. The sad and sudden passing of bassist Ronan "Bones" Connor back in 2021 shook the foundations of the band to the very core. Big decisions were made and with the addition of Niall Gregory, Raum Kingdom have done the right thing and have released Monarch, which, after a three year absence, has reestablished them as one of the finest bands on the scene today.
Dave, Andrew, Mark and Greg join us for a really cool chat, where we discuss both the Irish and International metal scenes as well as getting an insight into the writing and recording process for the mighty Monarch. And of course there's plenty of laughs along the way!
Available on both The Metal Cell & The Smashing Skull YouTube channels from Friday 24th February. You can also catch it on all good streaming platforms. Be sure to check it out!

Conor McGouran (Guitars/Keyboards) & Ronan Burns (Bass/Keyboards) of The Enigma Division discuss the recording and release of their incredible self title debut album.

It was a pleasure to have Conor McGouran (Guitars/Keyboards) & Ronan Burns (Bass/Keyboards) of The Enigma Division on the Podcast. The lads along with Ben Wanders (Drums/Vocals) have unleased one of the best debut albums onto the Irish Metal for many a year! Self released on the 27th January of this year, it's a musical odyssey that defies categorization however their influences range from 80s synth music, film scores, progressive rock to tech metal. All the members of the band have been creating and playing in many bands throughout the years so it was exciting to hear that this project was finally going to get a release date in 2023. Conor & Ronan talk us through each track and we discuss the song writing process, video arrangements and guest performances. The musicianship throughout the entire album is breathtaking with vocal performances that are both powerful and emotional. I was delighted to find out that this album will make it to a stage and with an appearance in Bloodstock UK now confirmed; it's only a matter of time for The Enigma Division to rehearse these songs and nail down some Irish dates. If you enjoyed this episode please 'SUBSCRIBE' to the Metal Cell YouTube channel. Thanks, Richie.
