Truth to power

I’ve been a fan of TYT for 5 or 6 years, despite living in Ireland I find their message incredibly inspiring. And you can’t beat a Cenk rant!

Why I Stopped Subscribing

I think TYT is a very important platform and outlet for progressives in America. I have subscribed to the podcast for maybe four or five years. I think there are presenters on the programme who do excellent work and I appreciate their perspective on stories and their ability to dig down into them. However, I have grown tired of Cenk and Ana on the podcast. I think Ana is probably the least informed presenter on staff and I cannot understand why she is pushed to the fore when there are other more talented reporters/journalists on the team. As for Cenk, well his now almost constant shouting and roaring on the programme had become boring. His attempt at ridicule of others by speaking in an accident he believes represents a particular group of people is childish. Without realising it Cenk has become the very thing he objects to in other online media presenters. How many times can one person congratulate themselves on predicting an outcome before their obvious need for validation gets tiresome. I am sorry to say, and I do mean I am sorry to say, in the last year or so the show has turned into something more like a ‘frat house’ gathering than a serious progressive news programme. I hope that sometime soon Cenk can get back to the style of presenting he once had where in a calm, reasoned and intelligent way he just takes the audience through the issue.
