8 episodes

We're Dan and Elektra. Two life coaches who met on a course and hit it off. We're similar enough to go deep on a subject, different enough to make it interesting and comfortable enough to challenge each other.

Each episode will be a conversational discussion about something vaguely to do with the wellness industry, though we may go off piste from time to time.

We'd love to hear from you, so get in touch in the comments or DM us on Insta;

    'Q&A' or 'The Last One'

Welcome to the last episode from season 1!

It has gone ridiculously quickly and it has been such a fun ride.

We wrap up with a brief round up of the other episodes in the season then get busy answering some questions that you, most dear Listener, sent in. Is self care becoming commercialised? Can you do too much self help? Are all boundaries good? have a listen and find out what we think...

There's a teensy bit of swearing (Hence the E label) but nothing too rude or actually explicit!

We would love a comment or a DM, tell us anything. We will miss you between now and season two. Our Instas are @E1ektra or @soul__aim

Take care of yourself, Can't wait to see you for the next season!

    Big Love, Enjoy!

'Mens Mental Health' or 'It's not JUST about talking to someone.'

'Mens Mental Health' or 'It's not JUST about talking to someone.'

It's episode 7 and we've got a serious subject this week. We recorded it on Suicide Prevention Day, so the mood was sombre.

    TW: Suicide.

We're talking about how the term 'Mental Health' automatically conjures up bad connotations, when actually everyone has a position on the mental health sliding scale, from excellent' to awful. We offer up some ideas around what you can be doing everyday to keep yourself at the good end of that scale and what you can do if you meet someone at the not so good end.

Below are some numbers and websites of mental health organisations (they're linked, just click the name). You might want to bookmark some or add them in your contacts, in case someone approaches you in their time of need.

Both Dan and Elektra are good listeners if you have something you want to get off your chest. You can get in touch with them either here (for Dan) or here (for Elektra). We can recommend more helpful people too, depending on your situation, so don't be afraid to get in touch if you want to. Dan is also about to open the doors to A Balanced Life Dayhab, a non residential rehab centre, so if addiction of any kind of an issue, you may find some help there.

It's an important subject. Theres still some swearing. Please do give it a listen and let us know what you think.

    Big Love x

'Responsibility' Or 'Knowing meme, knowing you (A Haaa!)'

'Responsibility' Or 'Knowing meme, knowing you (A Haaa!)'

How do you get from toxic positivity to toxic exhaust emissions? Check out episode 6 to find out.

In this Episode Dan and Elektra are talking about the rise of the Instagram quote and what it means for people, whether they agree with them or not. We do touch on difficult themes, such as addiction and eating disorders, but in essence the episode is about responsibility.

There's a teensy bit of swearing (Hence the E label) but nothing too rude or actually explicit!

    'Enneagrams' or 'What's your number?'

    'Enneagrams' or 'What's your number?'

Have you ever heard of the Myers Briggs Personality types? Well, we'd like to introduce you to the new kid on the block (who's not actually that new). It's called the Enneagram and Dan really identifies with being a 9, The Peacemaker. Elektra has only just got her number (she's a 3, The Achiever) and this is a slightly convoluted conversation into the basics, but also how you can use the Enneagram to go deeper into what makes you tick and where you go when you are not your best self.

We touch on shadow work and how important it is to take the Yang with your Ying, if you want to understand yourself fully and work on those aspects of yourself that can be uncomfortable to shine a light on. The book that Dan recommends if you want to learn more is 'The Wisdom of the Enneagram' by Don Richard Riso & Russ Hudson

Dan was recording from a new place and Elektra did the editing with a perforated eardrum, so please excuse any poor sound quality (going in hard for sympathy vote here). We really hope you enjoy Episode Number Five!

There's a teensy bit of swearing (Hence the E label) but nothing too rude or actually explicit!

'Books' or 'The Trouble with (just) reading'

'Books' or 'The Trouble with (just) reading'

Elektra is a bookworm. Dan, not so much. Here they chat about the good and bad points of the 'personal growth' genre, discuss some good books to get started with and give a few tips about or from books that have made an impact for them.

Elektra also gets inspired to create a Book Study Group, which begins on 30th August 2021 and the first book will be 'The Four Agreements' by Don Miguel Ruiz. Its absolutely free to join, just get in touch with Elektra (see below for her instagram.)

'Yeah, you?' or 'The art of listening'

In this episode we get to talking about a question that we probably get asked the most, but actually answer the least. Theres some tips in here for digging a bit deeper and some things to avoid if you want to be a good listener.
