James Joyce's 'Ulysses' is one of the most important works of modernist literature. The book chronicles the passage of Leopold Bloom through Dublin during an ordinary day, 16 June 1904 (the day of Joyce's first date with his future wife, Nora Barnacle). In 1982 RTÉ Radio celebrated the centenary of Joyce's birth with a dramatised full production of 'Ulysses'; this broadcast is now considered one of the definitive adaptations of the book. Customer Reviews
Absolutely brilliant
Cannot but highly recommend this production. Superb actors voices all bringing the characters to life. I was really enthralled and entertained and it made my whole summer. Living in Dublin all my life I took some time to walk the landscape so vividly created by Joyce in his novel. Some chapters take a bit of head wrecking to get through but well worth the effort. Download and listen to this production as you go for your run or walk and I guarantee you will laugh and cry loudly in equal measure. Thank you RTE players and Mr Joyce.
