Verbal Insecurity 001 - My brain freezes up in social situations .
My brain just shuts off when people talk with me. I can just barely comprehend what they are saying but i am unable to think at all and struggle to come up with a meaningful reply. Usually i will manage to form a “filler" sentence but i cannot actually thoughtfully answer a question or continue the conversation.
I feel like my brain is in “panic mode" and just barely functioning when i am around other people.
I really struggle with this every single day at collage. When i am asked a question i am just not able to think quickly and answer it effectively. As a result my professors probably think i am rather dim witted. The same thing happens even when talking to my classmates.
When a lecture is done and i walk out of the class and get away from other people, it feels like my brain has suddenly started working. I can think of a question i struggled to answer in class, or a conversation i failed to keep going, and can quickly understand what i should have said.
I am able to instantly process all the information i took in the instant that I'm out of the social situation
