Ask the YTS on the Knowledge Beyond Doubt and a New Perspective on "Old" Injuries

Ask the YTS on the Knowledge Beyond Doubt and a New Perspective on "Old" Injuries

Who wants to live in doubt? No one. Yet, so many of us live under the reign of uncertainty each day.

This perspective choice makes trusting our path and how it unfolds difficult. Much of what we see on our road will be a scary uphill battle as long as we indulge doubt. What we miss along the way is the variety of endless perspectives. A limited vortex of choice to see each moment. The option of how to view life is ours, always has been, always will be. This freedom to choose is because we have free will. The confusion, feeling of being "stuck," or moving backward on our path comes from believing that our first response to a life circumstance is the truth.

Let's put this into the scenario of this episode.

We have a question from an athlete on route to a spring marathon. The training was consistent; everything was going well, and then, out of the blue, old injuries showed up to impede progress. For most athletes, the initial response is that this experience negatively affects the outcome in the spring and is a setback to training.

This initial response, profoundly influenced by societal programming, is just the most practiced program. Meaning, it's an "auto-pilot" setting in the brain. It's the default belief but by no means the only choice available. There are endless perspectives on every experience in our lives, yet so often, we choose the one that keeps us in the problem.

The solutions are never in the problem.

Another deep episode on account of your thought-provoking questions. Thank you for giving us the space to share wisdom, love, and knowledge from our hearts and experience as long-time endurance athletes. And remember, no effort is a waste. Not one moment of our life is off-purpose. If we pay attention and act on the calls of our hearts, we will see the incremental moments that lead us to the next level of living.

Vera Stepina, UltraRunner and Entrepreneur on Not Being a Sheep

Vera Stepina, UltraRunner and Entrepreneur on Not Being a Sheep

"When somebody tells you the truth and, before you didn't want to see it, but when you actually admit it to yourself and are honest with yourself that it is true...and you hate hearing that, but when you choose to see it and hear it and admit it to yourself, that is when your life changes."

Despite being born into a society that told her to stay inside the box, Vera Stepina refused to follow the herd. She persevered through homelessness, obesity, and unhappiness only to find her unique voice and the confidence to share her gifts unapologetically with the world. This amazing woman has lived through her fair share of contrast. She has risen above her limitations to serve others who are in search of a better way of life.

Vera grew up in Russia, where being skinny and beautiful was a competitive sport. Dieting was commonplace, even for young girls, and blending in with the others was encouraged. After losing her mother at a young age, Vera ventured to America with her friends for a new chance at life. The picture painted led her to believe that money grew on trees, and success was easy in the USA. Shortly after arriving in Oceanside, CA, Vera faced harsh realities that no doubt shaped the woman she is today.

This is a story of not giving up, resiliency, and commitment. Vera shows us all that excuses, even when we believe them to be reasons, are just words that keep us from living our greatest expression. We hope you enjoy this raw and revealing conversation with a woman whose mindset is as strong as her street cred.

Thank you to Jeremy Allyn for producing this show on our behalf - we are grateful for your support.

Jasmine and Rebecca of Nomad Eats are Turning Haters into Lovers

Jasmine and Rebecca of Nomad Eats are Turning Haters into Lovers

Jasmine and Rebecca founded a friendship around the power of plants and discovered that they shared a love for creating food. From there, they followed the universal recipe for a joyful life; they did more of what they love. They created beautiful food and shared it with their friends.

They hosted speakeasy dinners at Jasmine's apartment until they busted at the seams. Their guests couldn't get enough. The menus were tasty, but what was shining brightly through it all were their cheesy sauces. From late-night cheese calls pleading for more to back-alley deals, it was clear that these ladies were onto something that was growing fast, and they needed to answer the call.

In the two short years that Nomad Eats has been a company, Jasmine and Rebecca have peeled tens of thousands of pounds of potatoes. They have stayed up all night, creating batch after batch of what has become known as "liquid gold." No matter how tired, no matter what time of day, no matter if they have eaten or not, they always align themselves with the process. They stay in gratitude, and they bless every batch with the intention that people will feel joyful and nourished from their offering.

These ladies are showing up in vulnerability and figuring it out along the way. In effect, they believe they are doing everything right, and through their understanding of universal law, they are finding that now, their dreams are running to them. Jasmine and Rebecca are living above the bar and from the finish line. They understand our power as deliberate creators, and they are not wasting moments entertaining negativity around their vision.

I love this conversation and what it has to offer the world of entrepreneurship. It's not just about hard work, hard work, hard work. It's also about divine appointments, allowing and not compromising. It's an exciting viewpoint of commerce that everyone can benefit from in business and life. The wisdom behind Nomad Eats gives us all permission to take the roof off limitation and dream ourselves into an ideal reality.

Manmadh Rebba UltraMan Triathlete on Staying in Flow with Life

Manmadh Rebba UltraMan Triathlete on Staying in Flow with Life

"We're going to take everything away except for your basic needs, are you still going to show up and do it?"
    -Manmadh Rebba

Imagine this. The day before you embark on your greatest athletic adventure, you return from the pre-race meeting to enter a burglarized home. The place is a mess, your meticulous organization violated, and your items strewn about haphazardly. In shock, you take in the scene less than 12-hours out from your race start.

This unimaginable reality was the beginning of Manmadh (Mann) Rebba's first UltraMan competition weekend in 2017. His rental home, now a crime scene, left him and his crew with nowhere to sleep the night before the race. In a decision not to become victims of circumstance, Mann and his team secured a hotel and began to put the pieces back together. In other words, he stayed in flow with what life presented on that day.

Although a devastating experience, Mann is no stranger to overcoming the obstacles of life. As a now multi-time Ironman and UltraMan triathlete, Mann had to overcome the trauma of two near-drowning experiences to get where he is today. Mann is not only an example of strength and resilience but also grace. Don't be fooled by his gentle demeanor; this guy is resourceful and relentless.

Manmadh is an Ironman, an UltraMan, a Triathlon Coach, and a newly vegan yogi. We dive into his inspiration to change his diet and his deep philosophy around the food that we put into our bodies. We are thankful to have been connected with Mann through YTP guests, Mary Knott and Mel Urie. Listen to this episode with your entire being, and you will hear more wisdom than words.

Ask the YTs on Taking the Leap, Happiness Now and Meditation as a Tool for Athletic Greatness

Ask the YTs on Taking the Leap, Happiness Now and Meditation as a Tool for Athletic Greatness

To realize a dream is not wait for it to manifest but to live it right now. To calibrate our attitudes, thoughts, and beliefs in the present moment in the direction of our dreams. As we fine-tune the feel of our life we give space for the universe to organize on our behalf. You see, our happiness is not in the future. Our abundance is not in the future. Our ideal body and nutrition are not in the future. They are all right now. The change we wish to see in the world and in our own lives is right now.

We came here on purpose to realize what is living in our hearts. We did not come here to endure misery and discontent as our life experiences. We came here to wake up to the practical use that misery and discontent serve and their role in strengthening our desire to live life to its fullest.

For what seemed like lifetimes, BJ, and I would ask our higher intelligence to show us how we can serve in this life. We had a strong desire to create a community. To yoke, or bring together like-minded warriors who were willing and inspired to be their best selves. Before the evidence showed itself, we believed. Before YogiTriathlete grew into a viable business, we remained unwavering in our trust. Today we find ourselves in the slipstream of our dreams. Growing every day and consistently walking into the unknown with the very same belief and confidence that brought us to where we are today.

Without a healthy mindset, and purposeful calibration, we would not sit in the very honored place we sit today.

Thank you for your trust and belief. Thank you for sending us your curiosities and inquiries. Today we honor you as integral members of this ever-emerging community who collectively seek a better world. A tribe of like-minded warriors who know that said world begins deep within each one of us right now.

Thank you for once again assisting us in creating a meaningful conversation with this episode. This is for you.
