Dr Hisham Abdalla - Part 2

Dr Hisham Abdalla - Part 2

Part 2 of my great chat with Dr. Hisham Abdalla!

Dr. Hisham is a doctor and dentist and he explains this distinction and why he chose dentistry as his area of specialization. Our guest's approach to medicine is so refreshing, vehemently and actively looking for ways to integrate what is often disparate in the medical community, namely all the different types of evidence and wisdom that are available to us.

This holistic approach is essential to better, healthier practices according to Dr. Hisham, and he makes a number of very strong arguments against the narrow view of much of the medical field and its practitioners, an attitude that hurts the patient in the end! He gives us some great insight into how we can truly understand the idea of evidence-based beliefs and how these are merely determined by a sphere of reference. We get into what constitutes convention and some examples of how these conventions change over time, despite initial resistance to new findings.

Dr Hisham Abdalla - Part 1

Dr Hisham Abdalla - Part 1

We have a great friend and inspiration on the show with us today, Dr.

One of Dr. Hisham's main aspirations is to take away the adversarial dynamic that so often occurs between opposing beliefs; if we all actually want the same thing we should remove the stigma and slandering that goes into these debates. For this wonderful chat, make sure to tune in and for even more on solutions to the issues raised in this episode, keep an eye out for part two, in the near future!

    Dr Gabrielle Lyon

    Dr Gabrielle Lyon

Dr. Gabrielle Lyon is a holistic doctor focussed on longevity and the way she approaches this is through building muscle. Her work has shown her the central role that muscle plays in living a long and healthy life and she is here on the show today to explain this philosophy and her personal and professional journey in exercise and nutrition. We start off our conversation considering the current state of the world and some simple steps for remaining balanced and in good shape during these uncertain times.

We discuss balancing different client personality types and allowing people to play to their strengths while offering the necessary perspective for them to achieve their goals. Gabrielle explains her reliance on the four types framework laid out by Gretchen Rubin and from there we dive into fulfilling potential, confronting fear, and the ability to move on from trauma.

We hear about Dr. Lyon's evolving process and how it has grown and streamlined over the years into something efficient and client-friendly. The meat of our conversation is spent with Gabrielle explaining her muscular lens for health and why she places so much importance on certain muscles in the body. We get into protein intake, different dietary options and recommendations, and Dr. Lyon comments on fasting, veganism, and carbohydrates. For all of this and a whole lot more from a massively inspiring individual, join us for this episode!

    Paul Selig

    Paul Selig

Paul Selig's work as a spiritual channel involves him acting as a conduit for what he calls his guides and allowing their messages to be spoken through him. Much of this work has taken the form of transcribed books and his extensive bibliography stands as a testament to the amount his guides have to share with us.

Paul joins us on the show today to talk about this calling and how it came to be the work that he does here on Earth. We discuss the discovery of this gift and what it has meant to him through different stages of his life, with Paul unpacking his understanding as best he can. The conversation gets into the possible purpose of these spiritual communications as well as Paul's experiences of them and how he chooses to respond to them.

For Paul, unlike some mediums or channels, he leaves the messages unedited or changed, preferring to act as a pure and simple vessel for the messages he receives. The focus of our chat today is the ascension or transcendence of a current state, accessing what Paul and his guides call the upper room or octaves of our consciousness. We get into Christ-consciousness, health and sickness and finally turn to what this particular moment in history signifies. While talking about illness, Paul channels some messages from his guides on the subject, allowing himself to slip into the mode of transmitting what is available to him. For a truly remarkable episode with a foremost channel of the beyond, listen in with us today!

    Dr Bill Schindler

    Dr Bill Schindler

An ancestral way of eating is often spoken about in contemporary conversations about healthy diets but that does not mean that all ancestral diets are great ways to nourish the human body. Our guest today, Dr. Bill Schindler, is an Associate Professor of anthropology and archeology at Washington College whose focus is prehistoric technologies, with particular attention to those related to food. His approach is rooted in the past, and he looks to our evolution and history as the main way to contextualize how we should view our present and future.

He has a sensible yet somewhat rebellious way of looking at ancestral nutrition, asking the questions he thinks are missing from this modern debate. For Dr. Bill, it is less about what we were designed to eat and more about how we should be eating what we find around us. He breaks down some of his beliefs around different sources of nutrition and where we can find the most benefit in our present context. We discuss grains and dairy, plant sources and meat, with Dr. Schindler sharing what he believes to be the most important factors to consider.

Towards the end of this episode, we look to the future and imagine approaching, what our guest calls, the perfect human diet. Along the way, we cover dangerous parts of plants, mono-diets, foraging, and the nose-to-tail- approach to hunting. For a far-reaching conversation on the parts of our health we should all be addressing, listen in with us today!
