Hello!!! Karibu, welcome I am glad to catch you with our first episode of The Mwelu's Series. Am your girl Mwelu, i will be taking you in this ride as we dive deep to my life, thank you for joining me in the platform you are listening through.

When i meet people and introduce myself as Sharon they ask me now tell us your real name funny 🤣 right not to me . We have English names not to make it easy for anyone but to blend and it is our colonizers way of Most of us use our English name and forget about our middle names don't mistake me to someone who found the power of their native name long time ago i just found it and when i meet someone new i want them to remember me as "Mwelu Brown skin girl". Mwelu is a girl child's child, I know it's confusing right. She was only 16years the giver of my being My mother Esther populary known as Kamwaitu (small grandma) funny story she was named after her grandmother she was my great grandma and I was her mother 🤣🤣 don't get confused it's African tradition to name our kids after our elders in this case our parents. Being born by a young girl I was raised by my grandma she was mum and my mother was like a sister to me. As a young girl after you have a child the chances are you get married or drop out of school because
 • Baby sitting
 • Food the baby
 • cloths for the baby
 • In short a baby isnt cheap
She had her mother but her life needed more so she had to drop out of school and start a business. She had to grow up and switch roles with grandma.
My 17yrs old mother at this time is feeding or rather taking care of the entire family she had to grow up. Grown up decision have consequences and for my sake she was ready
