Outstanding!
I’ve been a Civil War buff for awhile but just now getting into the podcast. What a resource! Just now getting to First Manassas, but the groundwork episodes are tremendous. Thanks, you two!
What a great journey!
I was born in Israel, extremely far from those battlefields of American Civil War, but when I was 12 my family moved to Fort Benning Georgia, right into the heart of Dixie, where my dead took a one-year course in the US army. Back then in 1980 there was no segregation anymore, though racism was still in the air and I did get few anti-Semitic remarks myself. Nevertheless, most folks were warm and kind, the food was great, and when Tracy says ‘Halo Y’all’ I remember my days in Georgia with a big smile.
The podcasts of Rich and Tracy form a true magical mystery tour back in time. I must say I’m addicted, and every day on my way from Jerusalem up north, I listen to a chapter or two with great pleasure. Those were the years that shaped the United States of America and the couple perfectly deliver the great drama. Thank you Rich and Tracy for the magnificent work!
Rabbi
I just listened to your podcast on medicial care (first part), and wanted to tell you that my grandfather in the thirties wouldn't let my mother be a nurse because he felt it was improper for a female to touch a man not her husband. 70 years after the Civil War.Keep up the good work!
