Farmer Emily Staalberg: How a farm can help save the planet.
We're back!
Emily Staalberg is co-owner of Steel Acres, a family farm in Ojai CA. In this episode we finally get an answer as to why there is never a shortage of beets in your farm share or CSA. Emily also gives us the low down on the ups and downs of life on the farm (yes, one bunny can devour 300 cauliflower plants in a single night!) But no matter the hardships (and rogue bunnies) that the farm faces, Emily is never deterred from her mission tend the land and sustainably produce delicious and nutritious food for the community. This is such a fun and inspiring episode!

Montessori Preschooler Mabel Fish: School is work and I love it!
Mabel Fish, who, as she will readily tell you, is 4-11/12 years old and has been attending a small Montessori Pre-school since she was 2-1/2. In this episode she tells us about many of the different works she does at school (chain work, counting work, sewing work) and walks us through a typical day at school. She also explains why she loves school and how being peaceful makes her able to concentrate. This is a fun mini-episode to get Season 2 of Workin' It fired up again!

Tesla Sales Rep Ignacio Anzaldo: Actually listening to clients is the way to sell $100,000 cars.
Ignacio Anzaldo sold Tesla cars for over 2 years. He still drives one of the cars and in this episode, gets back to his roots by letting Reed take a test drive. Ignacio also clues us in to how he knows if you're a serious buyer just by how you walk up to the dealership and we learn how he was able to convince adversarial clients to eventually buy a $100,000 car. He also tells us how he was able to blow past his 25 cars per month sales goal and relates how being the child of immigrants shaped his career path. Mikael Jorgensen is the keyboardist for Wilco, one of the most celebrated indie rock bands of the last 25 years. In our conversation we find out if a degree from DeVry University is essential to being in the band and try to get to the bottom of just what's up with the water pressure at the Wilco Loft. We also chat about the logistics of being on tour and how the band never takes their fans for granted. Getting a behind-the-scenes peek at this amazing band was such a treat.

Animation Director Ross Venokur: The gut-wrenching freedom of making indie animated films.
Ross Venokur has directed animated feature films such as A.C.O.R.N.S: Operation Crackdown and the soon to be released Charming, starring Demi Lovato, Sia and John Cleese. He’s currently heavily into production on his third animated feature, The Silk Road Rally. In our conversation we get into why Ross's lack of drawing skill has not hindered his career and why working in the indie space is preferable to big studio productions. This is a fun and enlightening conversation with a truly talented writer and director!
