या जीवघेण्या आजाराला आम्ही निकराने तोंड देत यशस्वी झालो. आमच्या ’यशवंत’ बंगल्यात आमचा सुखी संसार पुन्हा सुरु झाला. माझ्या यशस्वी अनुभवाचा उपयोग हेच या कथनाचं श्रेय आहे.In the face of all the ailments, we emerged victorious. Our beloved bungalow “Yashwant” now stands true to its name, as we have returned to our blissful life. Hope my success story stands as a tale of triumph for the rest of the world.

आता पुण्याला जाण्याचे वेध लागले होते. आम्ही छान गप्पा मारत हॉलमध्ये बसलो असतानाच आत धडपडल्याचा आवाज आला, पाठोपाठ विलासची किंकाळी माझ्या कानावर पडली. एका अडचणीतून मार्ग काढावा तर दुसरी समोर येत होती...We longed to go back to Pune. The entire family had gathered in the living room, enjoying the warmth of happy conversations after a long time. When suddenly, Vilas’s agonising scream was heard. As we gathered our withered minds out of one storm, we were caught in another one.

विलासलाही डिस्चार्ज मिळणार असल्याचं कळताच मन आनंदून गेलं. ही सर्व कहाणी त्याच्या नजरेने जाणून घेण्याची उत्सुकता लागून राहिली...संकटांच्या काळ्या ढगाला प्रेम आणि श्रद्धेची - रुपेरी किनार!I was thrilled to hear about Vilas getting a discharge. The time has come to give him a listening ear and understand his side of this appalling journey. The silver lining of hope and love now glistened with grace.

मला रुममध्ये शिफ्ट करण्यात आलं. विलासचीही प्रगती चांगली चालू होती. मला डिस्चार्जही मिळाला. मात्र आम्हा दोघांच्या मनाला उभारी एकाच गोष्टीने येणार होती - एकमेकांची भेट होणं! विलासला पाहून १० दिवस उलटून गेल्यावर एक दिवस अचानक संधी आली...I was shifted to the hospital room. Vilas’s condition was steadily improving. Soon, I was discharged.  However, a journey without his company felt incomplete. At last, after 10 days of being apart, we met!

ऑपरेशनचा दिवस उजाडला. अ‍ॅनेस्थेशिया देण्यापूर्वी मी माझ्या देवांना हाक मारली. माझ्या शंकराचा चेहरा संपूर्ण खोलीभर पसरला. माझी शुद्ध केव्हा हरपली मला कळलंच नाही.It was the day of the operation. Before entering the operation theatre, I made a quick prayer to the almighty. As the anaesthesia began seeping into the body, I could feel the divine positivity fill the room.

विलासची स्थिती अशी होती की एका दिवसाचा उशीरही त्याच्या जीवावर उठला असता. मी नव्याने टेस्ट द्यायला एकीकडे, दुसरीकडे तापाने क्षीण झालेला विलास अशी आमची अवस्था होती. मात्र हळूहळू चमत्कार घडायला सुरुवात झाली...Vilas’s health had completely deteriorated. A day's delay would have proved fatal. Like a fragile thread being tugged on either end, Vilas and I were being tested by the difficulties of physical ailments and practical issues respectively. However, around the dark clouds of despair, a silver lining soon began to appear.
