    Episode 289:

The MLSisBack Tournament winds down this week as the final game will be held on Tuesday night. Overall I think most fans and critics would consider the tournament a success. While it started with some controversy and schedule shifts, the end result was a fun action-packed event that really gave fans a taste of the sport they had been missing for months.

This week Mike and Mike Allen discuss MLS Commissioner Don Garber’s comments on the tournament and the announcement of the return of teams to their local markets in a three phase approach to complete the season.

    Episode 288:

NYCFC looked like a completely different team in their 3-1 victory over Toronto in their first knockout round game of MLSIsBack. Sadly for NYCFC fans, they resorted back to their old predictable stagnant ways this week versus Portland.

This week Mike and Mike Allen welcome Jon Sanchez from the NYC Forever Podcast to the show to look at what went wrong for a team that impressed so many people just a week before.

    Episode 287:

It only took five minutes for NYCFC to take the lead in Sunday night’s game versus Toronto. A lead they would never let go. The high press approach from New York disrupted the typically calm and precise team from Canada and eventually the countless turnovers would be too much for TFC to overcome as the lead eventually grew to 3-0, before a loan goal in the final minutes by former NYCFC striker, Patrick Mullins, allowed the Reds to save face.

This week Mike, Jon, J.R. and Mike Allen look back at what Ronny Deila got right in his approach and game plan. We also look at the key plays to the game and which other players impressed the guys.

NYCFC finally earned their first victory of the MLS 2020 Season taking advantage of a struggling Inter Miami FC team.

While not in control of their own destiny the team still currently has a 43% chance of advancing into the knockout rounds of the MLSisBack tournament.

This week Mike and Mike Allen discuss the last two group stage games for the club and share audio from Ronny Deila, Keaton Parks, Alex Ring, and James Sands.

    Episode 285:

NYCFC soccer is finally back and so is the scoreless drought. NYCFC is the last team in MLS in 2020 to score a goal.

This week Mike, Jon, J.R. and Mike Allen get together to discuss the first group stage game for NYCFC in MLSisBack down in Orlando as the club would lose yet another game by the score of one to nothing.

The show includes audio clips from Ronny Deila, Alex Callens, Ronald Matarrita, Anton Tinnerholm and James Sands.

In the second segment the guys predict a starting XI for the game Thursday morning versus Philadelphia.
