The Crouch End Players Vintage Radio Theatre are delighted to present our Christmas production, a classic festive tale for the family in front of a live audience!​

A Christmas Carol.

Adapted from a vintage radio script from 1939.

Listen as we bring the story to life,  with live sound effects, evoking the ghostly atmosphere of  Tiny Tim, Ebenezer Scrooge and his supernatural visitors in Dickensian London.

Creative Writing project - Read by the writers:

During the COVID 19 Pandemic we facilitated zoom sessions to share thoughts, feelings and experiences of lockdown.

People came together through discussion,  creating and reading  their writing and performing sketches.

There was sadness and reflection but we also had so much fun and laughter sharing, as often people were able to find humour in situations they found themselves in.

We created a special. connection as a group.  So here are some of our written pieces.

Based on Daphne Du Maurier's classic romance, Crouch End Players Vintage Radio Theatre performed the 1940s radio script, with live sound effects, in Holy Innocents Church in 2013.

Crouch End Players radio debut. This was our very first vintage radio theatre performance, with live sound effects in 2012 at Holy Innocents Church. Based on a story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. 

Vintage Radio Theatre Archive:

4 episodes of "The Amazing Interplanetary Adventures of Flash Gordon and Dale Arden" originally produced in the 1930s.

Performed by Crouch End Players in 2014 in Holy Innocents Church, Crouch End, directed by Heather Maîr Thomas, as part of the Crouch End Festival.

The cast performed rehearsed readings with live foley and vocal sfx.
