India is not 28 States, but 85 Regions ft. Poornima Dore
Economic analysis in India is often state-centric. However, there is quite some economic divergence even within states. It’s probably more accurate to look at India through the lens of its regional diversity-a country of 85 regions, each with their own economy, geographic identity, resources and skill sets. What can we learn about India when we adopt this lens? To discuss this, we talk to Dr. Poornima Dore, an economist and author of ‘Regional Economic Diversity’.
We discuss:
* Why focus on regional diversity?
* Are regions political entities too?
* Understanding the agglomeration effect
* Who comes first? Industry or people?
* A lack of regional political consciousness?
* Planning at regional level
* Specialisation or Diversification?
* Enabling conditions and organic growth

Useless ramblings of a bully
Saurabh is a confused bully who has a strong opinion on everything. He even mocks Lakshmibai doing anushthan before her war and mocks the common words of prevalent Hindi which he has not used. I listen for the guest’s opinion but since Saurabh has resorted to insult the guests with differing views on successive episodes of his monologue, I guess it’s the time to quit. Pranay continues to be respectful and has facts to present. Good luck Pranay.
So far NOTHING can beat this!
One of the finest and amazing contents available on an Indian platform.
Sourab and Pranay’s style of hosting the show is unparalleled and fulltu desi style.
Only show where I found hosts do through research before calling their guests and chip in with their inputs as and when their hosts are unsure of the facts.
Unbiased, factual and more importantly covers the topics ranging from politics, current affairs, history and every anything under the Sun.
So sad to see this show in not known to many.
Heavily recommended!
Please give it a try. It’s a slow burn to begin with but soon kicks in as the show progresses. So engaging conversation that I could do 100+ KM cycling on a regular basis just listening to these guys!
