The Hills Are Alive With the Sound of Bollywood

If Bollywood and Alpine landscapes seem like a weird pairing, it may be time to reconsider. It turns out that Bollywood has a long legacy in Switzerland. A Bollywood heroine in a sultry chiffon saree singing and dancing on what looks like a snow-covered mountain somewhere in Switzerland.

Veg or Non Veg? Vegetarianism in India.

Veg or Non Veg? Vegetarianism in India.

If you’re from India, it isn’t uncommon to be asked in the West if you’re vegetarian. And there’s a reason for that: India has more vegetarians than the rest of the world combined, and the lowest per capita meat consumption of all nations.

Rimjhimster ,

Please turn off your TV.

Ladies, I was really hoping for an interesting discourse on Indian politics but if you are unwilling to do research for the podcast and just put out your own limited half baked views. I don’t see the point of this podcast. I’m sure you can have this conversation in the confines of your own home. It’s crazy to hear that you lot don’t know that actual academic research exists in India. You don’t have to base your arguments on journalistic pieces. FYI NSSO is the government agency which does surveys and has data, it was withheld by BJP. Recently released report tells that India’s unemployment is at its highest in last 45 years. Also, it has been contested not only by academics in India but elsewhere as well that Demonetisation was a massive failure - as it hindered GDP growth for a country which needs to grow at the moment. For a country with the Demographic dividend like India unemployment is a huge issue since BJP also started Skill India mission - it’s legit to ask these questions. It’s obvious that you’re partisan but you don’t need to discount the actual issues.
