    Bedtime Tales of Fairies

    Bedtime Tales of Fairies

Thanks to listener Joe for the heads up that the audio cut out! The bedtime story selected for your sleep is a Sleepy Time Tales original but followed up with a scholarly dissertation on the fae folk of Wales.
We return to the enchanted forest of some of our earlier original tales in the first story for tonight. A gentle musing on the nature of fae folk at midwinter.

And this is too short, so we learn a bit about the traditional beliefs of Welsh folks in olden times. Apologies for terrible Welsh/Celtic pronunciations.

    New Atlantis by Francis Bacon

    New Atlantis by Francis Bacon

A try treatise of the perfect society from the perspective of the early 17th century is a perfect method to help you sleep.

A fictionalised account of what the author considered a perfect society, Christian and noble, and better than his own corrupted society. Also not a particularly exciting story.

    Moby Dick at bedtime

    Moby Dick at bedtime

The classic tale of a man and his whale is the route to a sleepy night for you tonight.

Our protagonist starts to feel his wanderlust so signs up as a whaler. But things get off to a bit of an aggravating start. But fret not, this is an ideal candidate for a bedtime story to get you to sleep.

    The Time Machine

    The Time Machine

The time travelling classic sci fi is both interesting and a bit dry, so basically perfect for your bedtime needs.

It starts at a dinner party with a man who has an impossible idea that he then demonstrates and ends thousands of years in the future. Yet somehow isn’t as exciting as it sounds.

    A Christmas Carol

A classic Christmas tale is this week’s trip to a restful night.

Probably don’t need to tell you much about this story. The miserly Scrooge is rude to his nephew and an employee and gets visited by the ghost of his former business partner. But you know what’s happening, so it won’t keep you awake.

Best Sleep in Years!

I was introduced to STT by my daughter. Dave’s voice is truly very calm & soporific. Who knew that a ‘droning, male voice’ could be a super power!

Thank you Dave! I’ve had the best sleep in years thanks to your brilliant format! I’m happy to report, I haven’t heard a single story on your podcast! 😃 I’m out like a light well into the introduction!
