The Gateway is a six-part series about Teal Swan, a new brand of spiritual guru, who draws in followers with her hypnotic self-help YouTube videos aimed at people who are struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts. Some followers move to Teal’s healing center, a spiritual startup where they produce content and manage social media accounts. Teal insists her therapy saves lives, but her critics say Teal’s death-focused dogma is dangerous. Gizmodo reporter Jennings Brown traveled to rural Utah and to the forests of Costa Rica, with extensive access to Teal and her inner circle, to understand Teal's teachings and investigate the deaths of some of her followers.

Very manufactured
Very one sided journalism, manipulative just like he claims Teal to be. Also felt he is immature and doesn’t know real hardship and how people deal with it in different ways. He hasn’t investigated whether suppressed memories are a thing and how widespread are they or he has not even bothered to research what suicidal people actually go through. He’s judging something based on his opinion without going into what that experience is actually like. I’m not in Teal tribe or any such thing but I can fully understand what she is saying and it is supported by proof in ones life and already observed points just validated by her and not validated by other systems in society, causing a lot of pain to suffering people. Jennings seems like a young chap who has not seen any real bad luck in life.
