The 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) kicks off in Dubai, marked by rising temperatures, a global energy crisis and conflicting climate goals due to changing priorities. The planet briefly breached the 2-degree Celsius warming threshold just ahead of the summit. And, this could also very be the COP of irony, as The UAE, the host of COP28, reportedly plans to discuss fossil fuel deals alongside climate talks.
