A People Leader at a People Company
Scott Marshall, Senior Group Director for the People Team in the Americas at Worley, sits down with Katie Mehnert of The Voices of Energy to talk about the workforce of the future, energy transitions, and more.
Scott's journey started when he enlisted in the US Marines. After enlisting for eight years, he returned home to Louisiana, where he applied for an electrical supervisor position and, ultimately, was hired as a recruiter for the company. Scott shares his experience early in his career and how joining JACOBS Energy, Chemicals, and Resources, which Worley later purchased, helped solidify his passion and emerging career in the HR sector.
Scott and the Worley team's unifying voice emphasizes its overall values and behaviors, focusing on being stronger together through teamwork and caring for employees' physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
Scott wants to encourage more leaders to have conversations about the development of people in the workforce. He is part of several organizations that help address these challenges, including the Houston Livestock and Industrial Craft Committee - which brings industry professionals into high schools - and the Upscale Houston Committee, which connects education, business, and the public sector.
Scott's leadership at Worley is rooted in the idea of creating a culture of purpose and togetherness where employees can excel and create tangible change in the world. -
