In today’s lecture, we will discuss the Attorney General and the Advocate General.

The Attorney General of India:
Article 76 of the Constitution establishes the Attorney General (AG) as the chief legal advisor to the Government of India. Appointed by the President, the AG must be qualified to be a Supreme Court judge.

The Advocate General of the State:
Article 165 provides for the Advocate General, the highest law officer in a state. Appointed by the Governor, the Advocate General must be qualified to be a high court judge and serves at the Governor's pleasure.
