    He is perhaps the only Indian Army General to have commanded two of the largest and strategic front line Armies of India, namely, the Western Army, protecting the Indo-Pak border, and later, the operational Northern Army, wherein he worked tirelessly to bring peace to a turbulent Jammu & Kashmir State, while ensuring security of borders with China and Pakistan.
    Volunteer-Member and Special Invitee to the Executive Council of Delhi Council for Child Welfare (For destitute, Under-privileged & Special Needs Children).
    Conferred the highest service award of PVSM for his dedicated service to the nation and outstanding leadership by the President of India.
