    Is it really possible to eat cake and also lose weight? It is possible but it might not be in the way that you think.







    For example, I'm not saying that you can eat store-bought cake for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and in front of the TV whenever you want and still lose weight. Nope, that is not what I mean.



    But it actually is possible to eat cake and still lose weight if you plan ahead, you make it yourself, and you use portion control. It's also possible that you could even eat store-bought cake and lose weight, if you do not have a sugar addiction or are struggling with emotional eating, binge-eating, or compulsive overeating.

    This is a question you'll never hear the mainstream diet industry address because that's not what the mainstream diet industry is for. It's not there to help you get real and lose weight successfully. The mainstream diet industry is fine with you struggling because you'll be their customer for life, unless you do something about it.

    The number one sign you need to grow up to lose weight can be seen in your grocery cart. Look at the food you have in it. Does it look like you're shopping for a kid but you don't have any kids?



    Even if you do have kids, do you eat like a kid rather than eating like a healthy, fit, personally responsible adult woman at your very best weight? HINT: you need to step into that in order to become that. You won't suddenly "get it" once you get to your goal weight number on the scale.

    Have you ever thought you might have a problem with perfectionism in weight loss or maybe even a problem with perfectionism overall?



    If you do I understand, I've had the same problem! This is why my very first post I wrote when I began this mind-body weight loss venture on my first website 17 years ago on March 07 2007 was about perfectionism.



    Perfectionism can really (really) get in your way if you allow it to. When it comes to weight loss perfectionism can stop you from reaching your goal weight indefinitely. Here's how:



    On Tuesday when you're not perfect after already "starting over again on Monday" you tell yourself that since you messed up you may as well just wait until next Monday, 6 days away, to start all over again.



    But then the next week when you're not perfect on Wednesday, then what happens when you throw it all out the window to have a food party the rest of the week and start again the next Monday? What happens is that elusive "end goal" stretches further and further out, so far out that you never reach your goal weight because you start over every week due to a lack of perfection.
