After studying International Fashion Management, Dutch Designer, Marre Muijs, embarked on a career as Brand Manager at a footwear wholesaler in Australia, learning the ins and out of product development and what it takes to make a beautiful shoe. From that moment, ESSĒN, the label, was born.

ESSĒN believes that footwear is the foundation of a well-curated wardrobe and the basis of a great outfit. Shoes carry us, add height, alter posture, and affect our confidence. Marre believes you can learn a lot about a person's character and identity from their choice of shoes, their image, and how the wearer wants to be broadcast to the world. Her brand ethics are embedded in women’s day-to-day realities, striving to create an effortless style that balances design, interesting details, and comfort.
