6. Does Bangladesh Need a Contemporary Art Museum? বাংলাদেশের কি একটি সমসাময়িক শিল্প জাদুঘর দরকার?

একটি উন্নয়নশীল দেশে শিল্প এবং শিল্পী জনসমক্ষে কিভাবে বিকশিত হচ্ছে? আমরা আশা করি, আমাদের আলোচনাটি পুরনো সমস্যা গুলিকে সমাধান করার পরিবর্তে বরঞ্চ "জাতীয় শিল্প প্রদর্শনীটি কোন ধরনের প্রদর্শনী হওয়া উচিত?", "কিভাবে দেশ এবং বিশ্বকে নতুন দৃষ্টি ভঙ্গিতে প্রদর্শন করা যায়?" এর উপরেই হচ্ছে। দুর্ভাগ্যবশত, আমরা এখনো মৌলিক অবকাঠামোর অভাবের সাথেই লড়াই করছি। ২৪ তম জাতীয় শিল্প প্রদর্শনীর প্রস্তুতি এবং অনুষ্ঠিত হওয়ার সময় গ্যালারীর অনেকগুলি স্থানে পানি জমে ছিলো। কিন্তু, এটি ( শিল্পকলা একাডেমী) শিল্পীদের জন্য এই দেশে অনেক অল্প সম্পদের একটি। বাংলাদেশে জাতীয় গ্যালারি কেমন হওয়া উচিৎ? যদি একটি জাতীয় গ্যালারীর স্থান শিল্পীদের চাহিদা এবং শিল্পের চাহিদা পূরণ করতে ব্যার্থ হয়, তাহলে আমরা কেন সমসাময়িক শিল্পের জন্য বিশেষায়িত আরেকটি স্থান/গ্যালারীর জন্য অনুরোধ করছি না? Does Bangladesh need a Contemporary Art Museum? How do art and artists develop publicly in a developing country? The vital conversation made by Fahim Hasin Sahan (architect), Sheikh Hassan (curatorial assistant), Snighdha Sultana (volunteer/Pathshala student), Muntasir Ovi( volunteer/Pathshala student), and Zihan Karim (curator) discussing the issues over a curatorial exhibition "Museum of Intensity". It could be seen as a representation of the art labor's condition in Bangladesh. We hope the conversation we are having is, "What kind of exhibition should the National Art Exhibition be?", "How to provide new perspectives to the country and the world?", rather than still solving old problems. Unfortunately, we are still fighting with the lack of basic infrastructures. Many pools appeared inside the Bangladesh National Gallery while the 24th National Art Exhibition was preparing and taking place. It's one of the very few resources in this country for artists. What a National Gallery in Bangladesh should be? 5. Three Chittagonian Artists in Tsushima Art Fantasia

গত ২০১১ সাল থেকে সীমান্তবর্তী দ্বীপ "সুশিমা" তে একটি বার্ষিক প্রদর্শনী অনুষ্ঠিত হয়ে আসছে। প্রতি বছর জাপান এবং বিদেশ থেকে ২০-৩০ জন শিল্পীদের আবাস এবং শিল্প নির্মাণের জন্য এখানে আমন্ত্রিত করা হয়। তহবিল কেটে যাওয়ার সত্তে ও শিল্পীরা প্রদর্শনীটি বন্ধ করতে অস্বীকার করেছিলেন। তারা প্রায় দশ বছর ধরে বিভিন্ন উপায়ে এটি এখনো চালিয়ে যাচ্ছেন। দ্বীপ গুলোতে একটি ছোট, সুন্দর, আরামদায়ক, ভাম্যমান প্রদর্শনী চলছে। বাংলাদেশ থেকে চট্টগ্রামের তিনজন শিল্পী সুশিমা আর্ট ফেন্টাসিয়ার একটি অনলাইন সমান্তরাল প্রদর্শনীতে অংশ নিচ্ছেন। এই এক অদ্ভুত সময়ে একটি প্রদর্শনী রাখার অভিজ্ঞতা কি? অনলাইনে সুশীমা আর্ট ফ্যান্টাসিয়ার প্রদর্শনী দেখুন। An exhibition annually has been held in the border islands "Tsushima" since 2011. Every year invite 20-30 artists from Japan and abroad to have residency and make art. After the funds were cut out, the artists refused to end the event. They anyhow continue it to now, and so on for ten years. A small, lovely, cozy, mobile event is happening on the islands. Three artists from Chittagong Bangladesh participate in an online parallel exhibition of Tsushima Art Fantasia. What's the experience of holding an exhibition in this weird period? 1. Interview with Gerobak Cinema of Dhaka Edition rickshaw mobile screenings, with Jog × ruangrupa

“Gerobak Cinema” is a mobile screening station presented as part of The Collective Body curated by Diana Campbell Betancourt and Kathryn Weir. The Chattogram based collective Jog Art Space and the Jakarta based collective ruangrupa collaborate using a rickshaw, producing screening sessions at Ramna Park Foot-over Bridge around the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, taking the energy from inside the venue out into the streets of Dhaka. The equipment was collaboratively created by the community according to local aesthetics to screen their own videos/ short films.
