Another Grey Gary Dudman

The Christmas season is well and truly upon us and with that comes the dreaded cold weather. As the years have gone on I have come to dread this time of year. Not only because of the extravagant cost of everything but no matter what you do you're going to be cold. And with the cold comes aching bones and joints. It's not just Greys that come with getting older.

In a previous post, I discussed how the cold weather often brings with it illnesses like the colds and flu. What I didn't discuss is the biggest danger of all about the cold weather.... Ice and getting attacked by Disney Characters!

That's right. As is the case with most of my life. I found myself in a peculiar situation, to say the least. A fistfight with a giant dog in Disney Land Paris.

DIY or to use its full name, Do it yourself. We've all been there at some point in our lives, where we've had to roll up our sleeves get out of our comfort zone and attempt to get something done ourselves. Therein lies my problem. Invariably it's never a good idea for me to do DIY. For my own personal health and for those around me.



Well, this week I had to help my Father In Law and after cutting down a piece of plastic with a meat cleaver and hammer that resulted in a piece flying into my face narrowly avoided my eye it got me thinking. When did my bad DIY luck start? The story is shocking, to say the least.

We have all imagined at least once in our life how we would react if approached by intruders in our home. Invariably we all would like to believe that our inner Rambo will reveal itself and make short work of the fools. 

The truth, however, is that in any situation of pressure and panic it is my belief we react one of 3 ways, Fight, Flight or Freeze. With the truth being that most of us freeze. 

Well, I was unfortunate enough to find out exactly how I would react if I thought somebody had broken into my home in the early hours. Let's just say It didn't go to plan.  Although as with all things I learned some valuable lessons that night.

Spiders, they're a fraction of our size yet most people have an innate fear of them and very few would happily handle one. It doesn't make sense but it's been a thing since the beginning of time and will likely never change.

I'm afraid to say that this segment may not alleviate those fears as I discuss getting bitten by a spider for the first time and a story that might just make your skin crawl. It certainly made mine at the time!

With spider mating season well and truly upon us, there's some good if not obvious advice in there.  Might save you from a bite or two.
