    051 Gav Whitehouse

    051 Gav Whitehouse

    051 mixed by: @gavsta01
Melbourne producer and DJ Gav Whitehouse is these days most known for his slamming high energy DJ sets at his weekly residency for Melbourne club night Eat The Beat at New Guernica where you can catch him most Saturdays dishing out techno and tech house dance floor fillers.

Knowing Gav for a little while, and his love for all things house music which he normally doesnt get a chance to play, I really wanted to give him a platform to express more of his repertoire.

You can hassle him for any track IDs by @ him ;)

    050 James Winter

    050 James Winter

A superb mix of discerning deep house from Melbourne producer James Winter marks our 50th podcast. James has been on our radar for years, and to no surprise many DJ radars too. But he is a guy that lives the quiet hustle, does the work with little to no fanfare and then comes out with wonderfully curated DJ sets or EP releases that make you think why isn't this guy more well known? Well we hope this podcast at the very least will put him on more people's aural maps and you can check more of James' music here..

    048 Binofski

    048 Binofski

With full confidence I can say that Binofski (https://soundcloud.com/binofski) is one of Melbourne’s most under-rated house music producers, It’s always shocked me that you don’t get to see many of this mans original productions, such is his talent I’ve always thought his original works are of a quality that really needs to be heard by more. This is starting to change as he starts to roll out some of his music with his debut release coming out on vinyl with local label run by two of Melbournes iconic record stores, Natural Bounce.

Come see Binofski this Sunday in Melbourne:

    Liner Notes:
I’ve known Leroy, Binofski for a few years, on and off running into each other at behind the scenes industry events for Native Instruments, Korg and others for which Leroy is Australia’s best ambassador. A self confessed synth and gear nerd this also extends to DJ life and his passion for spinning on wax, and generally only ever plays on vinyl, to which this feature mix is no exception.

    047 Venda

    047 Venda

    Liner Notes:
David Harman (Venda), Australia’s unofficial prince of minimal has always stood out to us as an artist carving out his own sound in the pursuit of less is more.

We’ve had the pleasure of hosting Venda at two of our showcases, both in Melbourne & Sydney, over the years and his ability to captivate the club is on show here again with AUU 047 coming straight off the club mixer. Hot off the recording desk at the Oxford Art Factory in Sydney this episode of the podcast is the journey Venda provided warming up for international minimal stalwart, Raresh. So let’s dive in with Venda.

    Follow Venda: https://soundcloud.com/venda

    More on Venda:
Venda is an Australian based DJ, Producer & Engineer, Venda has spent years refining his sound, evolving his unique style to the stripped down approach he finds himself most comfortable with today. With a growing catalogue of releases in recent years on Modeight, Perceive, Mezin & hometown labels Unic & Mantra Collective, it’s no surprise Venda is being recognised as one of the most important artists in Australia’s minimal scene.

    046 Somersault

    046 Somersault

Somersault is an Australian house music producer releasing records on some of the most sought after record labels in the scene. He now divides his time between London and Australia.

    Follow Somersault: https://soundcloud.com/somersaultmusic

    Liner notes:
Jim (Somersault) first asked me to come on the podcast 7 or so years ago to which I politely declined, with a mutual understanding that it wasn’t a firm no, it was a ‘not now’. As at the time I was looking for more established producers and he was just starting his trajectory into where we find him now. At the time I was working A&R for a local record label to which my manager and I agreed he was definitely one to keep an eye on. Better late than never, I finally hit reply late last year and with the years since we had become good friends and peers pursuing very similar musical aesthetics.

So where do we find him now? Absolutely killing it. Right up there with one of Australia’s best house music producers backed up by record label signings from some of the most sought after house music labels globally such as powerhouse PIV, META, Audio Jack’s Gruuv and others. Now dividing his time between London and Australia his musical output is always worth seeking out.

I’m very happy & proud to have Jim on for the first podcast of season 2. So let’s dive in with Somersault.
