    Naomi Simon has had a long history of volunteering to support the Black community. From an early age, she has been supporting a Saturday school run by her dad and has started several side projects since then.
    We learned about her motivations for creating projects and giving back to her community, most notably raising funds to support Black families financially during the pandemic and her involvement in the SEADS project who are training teachers and supporting schools across Africa and the Caribbean.

    Creating change as an advisor to the Prime Minister - Nero Ughwujabo

    Nero Ughwujabo has dedicated much of his career to creating greater racial equity in British society. He spent several years working as the Chief Executive of Croydon BME Forum working closely with community organisations in the area campaigning for change and enacting change on a wide range of issues. 

    His work led him to become the first Special advisor to the Prime Minister of African heritage. 

    In this episode, we discuss his motivations for committing himself to this work, his achievements, and advice others can take if they are interested in creating change.

    Sasha is a principal genetic counsellor and PhD candidate who's passion for inclusivity in the field of genetics lead her work across the world. 

    She has too often been the only Black Genetic counsellor in many of the spaces that she has been in and has taken the initiative to set up Genetics Engage to encourage greater inclusivity in the field. 

    We discuss her journey into the field, her experiences as a Black woman in this space. We also take about the genetics of race and what that means for our day to day experiences.

    Nathaniel is the founder or Wakuda a market place for Black creators. After struggling to find a doll for his daughter that represented her, and his business partner struggling to find a Father's Day card that featured a Black father, they decided to create an online marketplace for Black creators making the products they needed.

    We discuss how Wakuda began and what they have done to support the Black business owners.
