COP27 & how you can help Ecoclub from Ukraine!

COP27 & how you can help Ecoclub from Ukraine!

This is a special episode that was recorded at the UN Conference of the Parties - COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. Join me for a discussion in the Blue Zone of COP27 with Nataliya Kholodova and Julia Guziy from Ecoclub in Ukraine and their initiative bringing solar power to Ukrainian hospitals. I hope that you as listeners decide to support this important initiative - even if it is just a small donation of a cup of coffee. Furthermore, if you could help share the initiative and podcast to others and especially to businesses and any potential doners – I’m sure that would be very much appreciated.

I hope you enjoyed this episode. For me the true hope and outcomes of COP27 are the ones by the people of COP that come together and collaborate for our planet. I think this episode is a small but good example of that. If you’d like to hear any more updates from me about my experience at COP27 or any follow- up interviews with fellow youth delegates - let me know and contact me either via email or Instagram @ecoactivist.lea or @ecoactivistjourneys

    All best wishes,

    Léa

Ecocide Law, Nature Rights & the Stockholm+50 Legacy

Join me in a discussion with Jojo Mehta, executive director and co-founder of “Stop Ecocide International". We met in person for the first time in Stockholm for the Stockholm+50 United Nations Conference in June 2022.

In this episode we discuss the criminalisation of the destruction of nature and how we can safeguard our future through changing international law. Furthermore, we talk about progress on ecocide law that was made in Stockholm and how everyone can and must form part of the global narrative to change norms and laws.

I hope this episode inspires you to join the movement. Please check out the Stop Ecocide Foundation for more information and share this episode on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook or directly with friends, colleagues, and fellow concerned citizens that want to help change the world.

Take care and all best wishes,

    Léa

Changing Our Global Food System – A discussion with Prof Mads Fischer-Moller

Changing Our Global Food System – A discussion with Prof Mads Fischer-Moller

Humans need water and food to survive. However, the world is increasingly entering a global food system crisis and our current agricultural system is also significantly contributing to climate change. All our contemporary crises are interlinked. This challenges us as a society to change our global food system!

This podcast episode is a discussion I had with Professor Mads Fischer-Moller who works on food policy at Scotland’s Rural College and is leader at the Future Food System Challenge Centre. Before coming to Scotland Mads worked as a civil servant in Denmark and for the Nordic Intergovernmental Cooperation on Food Policy.

In this episode we discuss a range of topics including what the biggest challenges in our current food system are, food poverty, food culture, what we can learn from the Nordic countries, Scotland’s Good Food Nation Bill, and how we can contribute to changing the global food system!

I hope you enjoy this episode and if you do - please share it and feel let me know on Instagram or Twitter.

    All best wishes,

    Léa

What role do museums have in addressing the Climate Crisis?

What role do museums have in addressing the Climate Crisis?

Welcome to Eco Activist Journeys. My name is Léa and I am your show host. Today I invite you to join me in a discussion with Kate Wilcox, a museums professional and postgraduate museums studies student at the University of St Andrews. We discuss the topic of museums in the climate crisis, how to communicate climate change, what we can do about climate anxiety, and how we can drive societal changes from different sectors in society. I really learned a lot through this discussion about how museums can and have to play a role in these societal shifts and Kate also shared some really interesting case studies of museums and galleries that communicate climate change and use art for the planet so I hope you will tune in for the journey ….

Thank you, Kate, for your time and work.

Can corporations do good? Corporate sustainability & campaigns for change!

Can corporations do good? Corporate sustainability & campaigns for change!

Join me in a discussion with Ellie King, an undergraduate from the University of St Andrews, who led the Ecosia campaign to get the University to switch to setting Ecosia as their standard browser on computers. We start by talking about the Ecosia campaign in St Andrews and how anyone can start a campaign to create change.

Then we dive into the main topic of if corporation can do good and respond to one of my earlier podcast episodes where I talked about the myth of corporate sustainability. Furthermore, we talk about topics such as B-corporation certification, analysing the intensions of companies, greenwashing, social justice and the continuous journey to sustainability.

Hope you enjoy this conversation and let us know if you want a part II by contacting me via Instagram on @ecoactivistjourneys and/or @ecoactivist.lea

    Take care and best wishes,

    Léa
