Episode 5: American Rum and Privateering Make it a Double!

In this episode we talk rum and how the spirit that helped build America continues to influence American Rum today at Privateer Rum. We talk with Dr Emily Murphy, Park Historian of the Salem Maritime National Historic Site. She provides historical perspective, and then we hear from Andrew Cabot, the Founder of Privateer distillery. Andrew’s ancestor happens to be the original Andrew Cabot, a merchant, rum distiller and one of the most successful American privateers fighting against the British during the Revolution. Andrew comes on line and brings with him one of his distillers, Pete Newsom, who explains what it takes to master True American Rum.
