Philly is famous for its history, culture, and food! Not only the nation's first capital it is a city of expanding waistlines thanks to its rich delicacies. Did you know the oldest continuously operating, family-owned, Italian restaurant is in Philadelphia? Let's talk about living in a foodie city.  How has the quarantined jeopardized some city eateries? How has the quarantine made some foods a hot commodity- Who knew chicken wings would fly out the cases? Pun intended. How has Philly fared with food waste and need during this time of a pandemic? And on a less taxing note, let's unearth some Philadelphia based culinary gems and hey, after the quarantine- let's do lunch!

Gilly Mac- is not holding back on her views about violence in the community.  This podcast discusses how some crimes seem to be overlooked because they do not fit neatly into the Black Lives Matter narrative? Is it better to keep your thoughts silent if it goes against the general consensus? Can you choose to live unaffected by some crimes and only permit yourself to be outraged when the group tells you it is ok? Are you only allowed to scream when a White police officer is the assailant in a crime against a Black person? 

Did you know Philadelphia was this nation's first capital and then it was snatched away? Like so many great Philly firsts, this city gets little recognition for its official status as a city of numerous firsts.  In this episode we will talk about some of those firsts or should I spell it "Phirsts".  We will dig into the annals of Philly's history and learn some facts...well, maybe just highlight some tidbits.  Gilly will also share some memories of when coming in first made her feel last and then we will time-travel to the Way Back- oh and there is a Mea Culpa too.
