Help My Baby Sleep - Sleep Sounds - Server

Help My Baby Sleep - Sleep Sounds - Server

This Sleep Sound is a 1 hour 55 minute recording of a real computer server.
My son Alexander was born in January of this year (2016). Once he arrived home we found he had trouble getting to sleep, and staying asleep.
A few times, whilst in his rocker in the family room, he would fall asleep – for hours. This amazed us as we have an old computer server in this room and it's very noisy.
We found that if he fell asleep near the server, he'd stay asleep for ages – but once asleep if we tried to move him to his bedroom – to his cot – he'd wake up. We soon learnt that if he fell asleep in the family room to just leave him there !
It took me a little while to realise that it was probably the sound of the server – the white noise – that was calming him and helping him fall asleep.
And it was this realisation that led to me researching baby sleep sounds, white noise, and ultimately the development of my blog helpmybabysleep.com.
This recording is of the actual computer server in our family room – it's real – not a computer generated sound.
When playing the sound just be aware of the volume – don't have it too loud.
So give "Sleep Sound - Server" a try - and see if it helps your baby get to sleep, and stay asleep. I know it certainly works for my son, so I hope it works for you too.

Help My Baby Sleep - Sleep Sounds - Car Trip

Help My Baby Sleep - Sleep Sounds - Car Trip

This Sleep Sound is a 56 minute recording of a car trip.
As nearly every parent knows, a crying baby will always fall asleep as soon as you take them for a drive in the car – and my son Alexander is no exception. As soon as we're in the car, he's off to sleepy-sleepy land.
With that concept in mind, I set up my recording equipment in my car during a car trip from Parramatta (in the western suburbs of Sydney, Australia) to the Blue Mountains (where we live) – which is about two hours west of Sydney CBD, and home to many world famous tourist locations such as the Three Sisters rock formation, the Megalong Valley, and the SkyWay cable car.
If you listen carefully to the background at around the 52 minute point, as I was driving through the mountains village of Wentworth Falls, you'll hear the screeches from a flock of Cockatoos flying over my car – it's pretty quiet, so you'll have to listen hard.
I've played this recording to my son Alexander many times, and it seems to work as good as a real car trip – even with the very quiet Cockatoos near the end of the recording.
So give "Sleep Sound – Car Trip" a try - and see if it helps your baby get to sleep, and stay asleep. I know it certainly works for my son, so I hope it works for you too.

Help My Baby Sleep - Sleep Sounds - Cricket

Help My Baby Sleep - Sleep Sounds - Cricket

This Sleep Sound is a 55 minute recording of a real live cricket.
Mr Cricket - as we'll call him - came visiting my home one night in January 2016. He decided to make himself known late in the evening when he started to chirp away in my laundry.
I immediately thought "what a great sound - I wonder if it would work as a Sleep Sound", so I very quietly crept into the laundry with my recording equipment and started recording - and he kept chirping for nearly an hour.
If you listen to the Sleep Sound recording yourself, you'll actually hear in the background, at about the 16 minute point, my son Alexander starting to cry for a few seconds, before he falls back asleep again. Alexander was in the family room, in his rocker at the time, fast asleep listening to another Sleep Sound - "Computer Server" (actually the real thing, as we have a computer server in that room and when he hears the noise from the server he always falls asleep - and i'll publish "Computer Server" in coming days).
So give "Sleep Sound - Cricket" a try - and see if it helps your baby get to sleep, and stay asleep. I know it certainly works for my son, so I hope it works for you too.
