Humans have lived as foragers since the beginning of the genus Homo which began more than two million years ago. Our human species Homo Sapiens Sapiens is biologically suited to a life in a foraging or hunting and gathering economy and this way of life is still the choice of contemporary people in a few places on Earth.

With the world divided into nation-states and the vast majority of people alive today living in agricultural societies it is important to consider human behavior in the context of a foraging culture when discussing human nature.

Together with guests in the fields of anthropology, ecology, biology, arts, law, and others and as much as possible with hunter gatherer people themselves we will explore what hunting and gathering looks like on a macro and micro scale, examining the prehistoric and recent past as well as learning from contemporary foraging peoples.
