    Knowing God as Father

    Knowing God as Father

As incredible and mind-boggling as it is to be able to have a personal relationship with the God Who created the universe, how much more so to realize that God has paid the adoption price that we can become the children of God and can declare to Him, 'Abba, Father.' The Righteousness of God (Part 1)

The Righteousness of God (Part 1)

Righteousness is the adherance to moral, or virtuous, principles. But who is the determiner of the moral principle? Our culture proclaims falsely that what may be right (just, righteous) to one group/individual is not necessarily right for another group/individual. There is, however, a standard of absolute morality - and that standard has been determined by God and proclaimed in His Law. Hence, True Righteousness is that which is right according to God's standards. True justice is that justice which is enacted according to the righteous principles of God's law. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of God's throne. God's righteousness is integral to His judgment and our salvation. This message was presented on Sunday, June 27, 2010 by Bob Corbin

The Desires of God (Part 4)

The Desires of God (Part 4)

In this final message of the series, we are challenged to consider once again the application of knowing God. It is God's will for His children to be sanctified, to be in a process of becoming more conformed to His holiness ... 'as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct.' This transformation of the way we think and live will cause us to be different from the world ... as different as righteousness is from lawlessness, as light is from darkness, and as Christ is from Belial! Believers are the temple of the Holy Spirit. We need to live as those who are called 'Holy' for the glory of God and the drawing of unbelievers to His holiness. The Desires of God (Part 3)

The Desires of God (Part 3)

The will of God is the expression of His desires that He has revealed throughout His Word. The chief desire of God is the exaltation of His person. The primary motive of worship is the recognition that He is the Creator and that He has created all things according to His desire (Revelation 4). As part of that creation, God made man in His own image and likeness. We are told in the Scripture that God desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of truth. It is not God's will, or desire, that any should perish. What is our desire? This message was presented on Sunday, October 17, 2010 by Bob Corbin

The Desires of God (Part 2)

The Desires of God (Part 2)

Jesus said, 'Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.' It would seem then to be important to know the will of God. The will of God is the expression of His desires that He has revealed throughout His Word. The chief desire of God is the exaltation of His person. 'I am the LORD, that is My name and My glory I will not give to another ...' We are called to do ALL to the glory of Go. Is that OUR desire? The Desires of God (Part 1)

The Desires of God (Part 1)

The Will of God has been broken down in theology into various categories including His decreed will and permissive will. However, our 'wills' are an expression of the strength and priority of our desires. God's Will is the expression of His desires which are consistent and in conformity to His being, composition, plan and attributes. Psalm 115 states, 'our God does whatever He pleases.' As believers and disciples of Christ it should be our desire (will) to walk in His steps which He expressed 'My food is to the will (desire) of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.'
