    William Malone was one New Zealand's finest leaders during the Gallipoli campaign. Sometimes it seemed like he was the only one with his head on his shoulders. He led his men through some of the toughest fighting of World War 1. Malone was a great leader because he prepared, cared, and set a great example for his men.
